Meet Ogechi Igboanugo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ogechi Igboanugo.

Hi Ogechi, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Music started with short rap sessions with my friends back in High School in Nigeria and while listening to Trybesmen (a Pioneer Nigerian Rap group in the early 2000s). Freestyle (a member of Trybesmen) was one of my favorites back then and I began writing my own songs while also listening to Eminem, 50cents, and Fabolous. Constant practice, dedication and hardwork has always been my motto and this is the reason I have come this far. I recently have gained support from Major Nigerian artists since I revived my music career three years ago and have since collaborated with some popular Nigerian artists like Slimcase, Chinko Ekun, Idowest, just to mention a few and have worked with the best of music Video producers in Africa on my Music videos.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Well, just like anything good in life, music has not really been a smooth road so one has to remain focused, dedicated and work towards their goals. Perseverance has been the key and luckily, grace has opened doors for me.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I work as a Senior-level (Director-level) Network Architect for a major telecommunications company in Dallas, Texas. Alright, so to wrap up, is there anything else you’d like to share with us?
I’m working on a lot of new music and major collaborations with both African and US-based popular artists to be released in 2021; I cant wait to share.
