Today we’d like to introduce you to Destini Douglas.
Hi Destini, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I reached a point in my life where I really valued independence and wanted to be self-employed. I started off by selling vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics such as lip scrubs, eyelashes, and lipgloss. After seeing the success of my business, I decided to add apparel. I do plan to continuously expand my brand.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
After experiencing trial & error with purchasing products from vendors prior to launching Tha Sugar Shop, I quickly adapted and learned how to create my own products such as vegan lip scrubs & lip glosses. Although it was very time consuming, it was less costly.

I am very proud of myself for having the courage to follow through with the creation of Tha Sugar Shop. Having an idea is one thing, but actually following through with that idea is also another.
Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up I was always very creative. Whenever I had an idea, I would always attempt to turn it into reality.
