Today we’d like to introduce you to Amber Sasseen.
Hi Amber, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I originally started in school with the intention of getting a degree in either Business or Psychology. However, I found out very quickly I had other passions I wanted to explore. I have always been interested in the world of Aesthetics and beauty, as well as a need to connect with and help others. My mother, who was seeing a Medical Esthetician at the time for Laser treatments, advised me to explore the field. I quickly did some research, toured a few places, and landed myself in Esthetics school in 2011.
I knew I wanted to work within the Medical side of Aesthetics, so after Esthetic school, I enrolled in a program under a dermatologist that allowed me to be certified in advanced Aesthetic treatments. It was the best decision I’ve ever made! After graduating, I worked at two Dallas Spas doing high-end facial treatments and learned the in’s and out’s of client relations. I felt confident enough to dive into the Med side of Aesthetics and landed a job at a Med Spa where I worked under one of Dallas’ Top Plastic Surgeons, a well-known Dermatologist, and alongside extremely talented Esthetician’s. Years of training and loyal clientele allowed me to perfect my skill set and prepare me, as I knew one day I would work for myself. Fast forward eight years to a worldwide pandemic that resulted in shutdowns, furloughed employees, and enough time to contemplate my future endeavors. I finally worked up the courage, took a leap of faith, and Satori Skin Studio was born!
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I would say starting my business has been smooth sailing, with the exception of the time I allocated myself to be up and running. I literally gave myself a month and a half! Every moment of downtime was spent creating my vision. There were absolutely a few learning curves for me to overcome, such as legalities that come with starting an LLC, learning how to use a booking system, sales tax that comes with selling products, etc. Luckily, I have a lot of exceptional people in my corner that helped guide me along the way.

Satori Skin Studio is a one-woman show that offers a range of services, including Advanced and luxury facial services, full body waxing specializing in brow shaping, makeup application including bridal and special event, Henna Brow Tinting, and Microblading and Microshading- a Semi-permanent makeup technique. My specialty is skin services and offers Pharmaceutical Grade skincare in house. My approach to results-driven skin treatments combines holistic and medial technology. I pride myself on staying up to date on the best and latest techniques in all of my services.
My priority and goal is to achieve my clients desired results but also build long-lasting relationships with them. I believe my customer service and client experience is what really sets me apart from my competition. I essentially created Satori Skin Studio to be a relaxing and rejuvenating space for both men and woman to look and feel their absolute best, a home away from home and life’s stressors, and a professional atmosphere where clients can come to improve not only their self-image but also their emotional well-being through my three T’s- Touch, Talk, and Treatment.
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
I have learned that the more thankful I am, the more I have to be thankful for.
