Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica Agafonov.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always loved the idea of capturing moments that you can cherish and look back on. I started taking pictures of family just like most photographers, then decided to pursue newborn photography. Little did I know that COVID would be in the midst shortly after. I decided to step away from newborn photography as being in close proximity with babies was just not something I wanted to risk. So I had decided to move over into Couples + Weddings and there’s no going back. I found my true calling in photography, I love being able to capture the love between a couple and letting them hold onto those moments forever.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
There have definitely been struggles along the way with COVID being one of them. Never did I think that COVID would take away the one thing I loved most, even for a short while. However COVID was the biggest blessing in disguise because I have found my true passion.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I specialize in Couples + Wedding Photography. My approach is to create moments that are not only beautiful images but an experience that makes you fall in love all over again. Many times there are couples who come to me that haven’t had photo’s done since their weddings. Guiding them through the process helps the couple get comfortable and dare I say, Lovey-Dovey. Many times after someone has been married a while they forget that being Lovey- Dovey is completely okay and totally recommended. I most proud of June-December 2020 I decided to switch to Couples + Weddings was the mosts fruitful year of all. I was able to travel + capture 23 weddings in a span of three months & 105 sessions. Something that sets me apart from other photographers may just be that I think outside the box, I don’t wait for creative ideas to be set I create them.
Is there anything else you’d like to share with our readers?
I just want to encourage you, that is if you set a goal continue to reach it. Even if the world seems against you just keep going I promise you will get to the end of the tunnel, and gosh no other feeling compares to it.
