Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathryn Phelps.
Hi Kathryn, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have found the art of bringing joy to people has always been a deep desire of mine. Through many facets of life, I have accomplished this, which is such a thrill. One of those ways is through my skincare business, Strawberry Honey. Strawberry Honey is an all-natural skincare brand focused on promoting healthy, all-natural, good-for-you products. I feel it is so important to emphasize natural beauty and natural products!
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has not been the smoothest journey. I could describe the harshness in one word: 2020. Starting a business in 2020 was quite difficult, as you could imagine. I am simply amazed, however, by the support I have received through all of it. Businesses supporting businesses is the way to do things!!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
“Creating” is most certainly a consuming hobby of mine. Starting from the beginning, when I would decide to give my Barbies haircuts at the age of five (update they did not turn out well) to now, where I am the Choreographer/Assistant Director for my old high school, creativity has always played a large role in my life. It all goes back to my love of bringing joy to others. Whether it be through singing, dancing, drawing, acting, writing, you name it and I have tried to use it to bring joy to others.
What was your favorite childhood memory?
A childhood memory that truly brings me joy was the constant playing outside. Swinging on the swing set, climbing trees, playing kickball or freeze tag, the days were filled with all manner of thought-provoking activities as such.
