Today we’d like to introduce you to Joy Kauf.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Joy. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I left my position at CitiFinancial Services as a Vice President of Strategic Initiatives. I always had a dream to run a Metaphysical Store when I retired. I guess Spirit had another agenda. I was taking a class at a Metaphysical Store and by the end of the evening, I agreed to purchase the business. We were located in a 1000 Square foot storefront and over the past eleven years, we have expanded twice. We are now located in a 3500 Square foot property located off of the main street in Lewisville.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I love what I do but it has not been easy. I would say it was a challenge to transition from a big corporation into a small business. I had to wear many hats along the way. We started out pretty small hosting about 8 events monthly. We now host over 40 events monthly.
The sheer growth has been a challenge. I would say some folks have a misconception of what we represent and it does challenge some peoples beliefs. The biggest obstacle was, and at times still is, we are about bringing together all religions and beliefs. We are here to assist people with building their personal relationship with God/Goddess, Source, whatever label you want to place on the Universe. This can challenge some people and their beliefs. I am about assisting people with making their personal connection to spirit.
Miracles of Joy Metaphysical Store – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
My dream was to create an environment that allowed people to find their own spiritual path. My store has a wide range of products to support all paths. We offer crystals, herbs, essential oils, jewelry, candles, statuary along with many other products. We offer a psychic fair monthly, as well as a wide selection of classes and workshops. Come get an aura photo, a reading, a chakra balance, or a healing. One of my favorite services is we host several sacred journeys annually, would you like to explore Egypt, Teotihuacan, Bosnia or other sacred sites. I am pleased to announce we will be offering Webinars in 2018. Now, we will bring a wide range of workshops and classes into your home, on your time, at your convenience.
What has been the proudest moment of your career so far?
My proudest moment has been when I moved to my current location. We held a grand opening and it was amazing, their were hundreds of people. We host so many amazing people throughout the year it is such a blessing to have these people share their hearts with our clients. I have been truly blessed to see so many lives changed. I think each cycle seeing people come in as clients, take classes, expand and grow and then watching them become practitioners to assist their clients. Words cannot describe that experience.
