Meet Micki Rice of Finally Home Staging in Mansfield

Today we’d like to introduce you to Micki Rice.

Micki, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I’ve always loved decorating our home. My husband and I flipped a home a few years ago and I learned a lot about renovating. We also have done some remodeling in our own home. I have a knack for visualizing an area, and making it beautiful.

My husband survived a stroke 4 years ago and had to quit working. After a couple of years, I decided I needed to find a job that I would I enjoy doing. I researched many opportunities and home staging appealed to me. I took a professional course that prepared me to create my own business!

The satisfaction of transforming a clients’ home so they get top dollar is such a blessing. Thankfully, my husband is healthy enough to assist me with some of my staging projects!

Has it been a smooth road?
Soon after I started, my mother became ill and passed away. It took me awhile to get back in the groove of continuing on. However, I picked myself up and got back to work.

So it’s not always smooth! Home Staging is slowly becoming popular in the Fort Worth area. It’s not as prevalent in this area as it is in the Dallas area and other parts of the country. Just like Real Estate, there are ebbs and flows. As a professional, I have a terrific opportunity to educate realtors and clients the importance of staging. First Impressions are everything! Why lower a list price when staging can make a huge impact to a potential buyer? This is a message I always emphasize to hesitant clients. The rewards far outweigh any challenges.

We’d love to hear more about your business.
Finally, Home Staging specializes in all areas of Home Staging. What does that mean? I offer consultations for clients who are remaining in their home while listing it. I will help them de-clutter, re-arrange furniture and accessories and can provide up to date accessories if necessary. I help them get their home picture ready so that it showcases well and stands among the competition!

I also offer vacant staging. What does that mean? A home can be void of furniture, accessories and frankly, “life.” Whether it’s a new build, a flipped home or a recently occupied home. I can bring in furniture and accessories and bring it to life! I can also assist with selecting paint colors and other updates that will add value to a home. Buyers can then envision themselves in their future home.

What sets Finally Home Staging apart from others? There are many other great stagers out there, but I DO pride myself in being driven, competitive, honest and ethical. I am always studying current trends and gaining new ideas to better service my clients. I customize each project and work with each client every step of the way to get their home ready to sell. I strive for that “aahh, finally home moment.”

Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Mansfield supports many small businesses and entrepreneurs. It IS a terrific place to live and work! I am fortunate to live here, where I am currently certified and a member of RESA.

Because I have lived in Mansfield for over 30 years and grew up in Ft. Worth, I have a clear understanding of the market.

Home staging is slowly becoming a lucrative and much needed service. For someone starting out, I recommend training and to join RESA.

Real Estate Staging Association is a terrific support group and network for Realtors and Stagers.

You are fantastic as are those photos. I would love for you to come and decorate my apartment. I watched Flip or Flop Ft. Worth and enjoyed it. I still prefer more hands on then they gave to the show.

Have you retired from Aetna? I heard that CVS was buying the company

    Miss you Fondly Sarah
