Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandon Hensley.
Brandon, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
The Tangerine brand started in Coppell in 2005 when we partnered with Aveda to become an Aveda Lifestyle salon. Now with four locations in some of the hottest shopping districts across the Dallas area, and growing from 12 employees to now well over one hundred, our priority is that the company never becomes complacent. The mandate to the staff is to continue growing and learning so that their technical and customer service is always at its peak. It’s through this passion for ongoing education and growth that Tangerine’s guests see the difference with every visit.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Any successful journey has its bumps and roadblocks. We have certainly had our share of those but I found out early on that it’s not if the problem is going to come, it’s knowing how to react to it when it does. By being flexible and making sure your entire staff knows that change is inevitable and problems will arise, we can tackle any challenge and make sure we become better at it.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
Probably the day Tangerine was named as the Trusted Salon of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders. The alignment of Tangerine with a brand that is one of the most well-known around the world is truly an honor. When I started the company ten years ago as a small, single location salon, becoming the trusted salon of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders was just a far-off goal. It is very touching that they would reach out and ask us. It is truly a testament to the talented staff working at Tangerine.
