Today we’d like to introduce you to Madi Davis.
Hi Madi, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We have always loved fashion from a young age and knew that we wanted to do something in the fashion world. Mackenzie studied design and wanted to design her own clothing and I (Madi) wanted to have a store and loved the styling side of things. We put our heads together and Nobel 31 was born in 2017. Noble 31 is an endeavor to enable the mind, dazzle the eye, and uplift the soul. We are inspired by the strong Texas women that surround us, from our mom to friends and family. We loved the idea of creating a brand that inspired and empowered other women to feel beautiful and part of our Noble community. The name Noble 31 comes from Proverbs 31 passage in the bible, it is about a strong woman that is respected in her community and helps her husband provide for their family and gives back to the poor. We also have partnered with various charities around Fort Worth that we feel passionate about.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We launched Noble 31 in the spring of 2017. It was incredible to get our designs out there and have people respond to our work but it didn’t go without hiccups and struggles along the way. We had a lot to learn from the business side of things and finding manufactures and fabric reps willing to work with us. We now have an incredible team that we love like family. We are launching our 10th collection this fall and are truly blessed to be able to look back over the past 10 collection to see where we started and how far we have come.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
My sister and I have a great balance at Noble 31. She is incredibly talented in designing and I of course give great critiques. Together we really focus on making wearable pieces that last season to season. We look into our own closet and our mom’s closet as well and try to design pieces that we are missing that we want to wear. We design a fall/winter collection and a spring/summer collection each year. Mackenzie is the head designer and I do the sales side of things. We are sisters first but we have a great relationship where we know what the other is thinking before she can even say it.
We are know for great tops that take you seamless throughout your day, no costume change necessary. We have designed everything from pants, to dresses and even a pair of shorts. We are currently working on some custom and semi-custom designs that have been very fun to work on.
Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
We have partnered with Rivertree Academy in the Lake Como neighborhood of Fort Worth to create a project based learning program that shows the ins and outs of the fashion industry. We worked with the 4th and 5th graders to sew a pencil bag and create a concept for their design and then at the end they had to pitch their product and their inspiration behind their product. The winner is currently helping us design a piece for our Fall collection where the proceeds will go directly to Rivertree Academy.
