Today we’d like to introduce you to Moises Turcios.
Hi Moises, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born in San Pedro Sula, Honduras, June-9-1984. My family and I left our country in 2015 with the hope to find the real American dream. We have been always happy and strong together. My girls (wife and three daughters) are the pillar that hold me, the reason to put so much effort and dedication to my job.
I’m always happy, charismatic, artistic and loved colors. After finishing college and graduating with a degree in Computer Science, worked few years on the field, but something wasn’t quite enough; I began looking for a something in which I can use my artistic talents. After meeting a couple of people and contractors, my father introduce me the person that mentored me in the remodeling/painting industry; I spent the next few years hard working, watching, listening, and the most important learning. I began to learn skills as a true remodeler/painter and found something for which I had a true passion and at which can excelled. With these skill and motivation, I decided to keep this path and continue learning new things; GOD has put on my way good people that have the ability to teach me some other trades that we manage very well like metal and wood frame, acoustical ceilings, custom carpentry, Sheetrock installation, tape, bed, texture and much more that the construction industry has to offer, every day I learn and don’t get tired of it.
After a couple of years learning, I decided to branch out and started my business; this is where the real challenge began. Started doing small projects for friends and family. Some of does days where hard, lots of work, long hours alone, sometimes without eating because you wanted to finish. My wife, my biggest supporter, waited for me until late hours for me to come home, rough days I can say… Step by step, slow but firm all started to get shape, people saw in me a person that can trust, relay on and got lots of recommendations, one customer recommended me with other and so and so and until today that is our marketing, RECOMMENDATIONS.
One thing took me to the other and ended learning commercial remodeling as well. This is where we develop most of our days, making Texas bigger and smarter. We have completed jobs for hospitals and other medical facilities, churches, condos, tenant finish out, hotels, and much more. We just love the process of taking an empty shell and making it beautiful.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It hasn’t… There have been some challenges along the way to where we are now. I think is common that a new remodeling business struggle in many ways, cash flow, slow payments process, change of plans, delays on permits and other trades, but thankfully we found great resources, mentors, and a couple of great business coaches along the way!
Being a son, father, husband, boss, subcontractor, material buyer, customer service, CPA, administration and much more thing in the same day for sure I can tell that this is not an easy place to be, but once you develop the ability of being under pressure, organize your daily task and not only manage but optimize your time your one step ahead of others and provide tons of value to your customers.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
