Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica R. Fountain.
Hi Jessica, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Hi there! I’m Jessica Rene Fountain, creative artist, travel enthusiast, and entrepreneur. My journey to the metroplex is the result of prayer, following my gut, and staying open to the universe. In 2012, after being laid off from my job. I was prompted to move to Houston, TX by way of Charlotte, NC. Eight months later, I found my way to Dallas after receiving my Texas Esthetics License. This single-handed decision led me to switching careers, transitioning from a human resource assistant to a freelance makeup artist and ultimately led me to Lash & Soul, which I opened in 2017. Lash & Soul is a boutique beauty and wellness studio located in Plano, Texas, where I am the CEO and lead creative director.
The studio is founded on the belief that beauty is as unique as a fingerprint and shines from within. Our mission is to provide premium beauty and wellness services to our clients that transform the mind, body, & soul. I am also a Claflin University HBCU alum and Strayer University MBA graduate. I enjoy traveling, yoga, the arts, and sharing my life experience via my blog ExpozHer which is housed on JessicaRene.com.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It has not always been easy. But it has been rewarding and intentional. I have had my share of challenges, including two stolen vehicles, a job layoff, missed promotions, broken hearts, etc., but it has all led to the life I live now. I am very proud of my journey despite its challenges.

While Lash & Soul is popular for beauty services, ranging from lash extensions and lash lifts to brow and facial waxing. We are best known for our differences, #thelashANDsouldifference. We believe in leaving you with more than you came for, and the focus is always on the “and” Lash & Soul’s mission is to provide premium beauty and wellness services that transform our clients from the inside out, focusing on the mind, body, and soul.
We are most proud of our Lash & Soul community, also known as the Soul Tribe. A community founded on the belief that we are all worthy and deserving of self-love and self-care.
If we knew you growing up, how would we have described you?
I was definitely a cross between Curious George and Denis the Menace, lol. I was born an explorer of life and nature, often would paying visits to my neighbors, asking questions and interrupting their hobbies. I was the kid that mastered her studies but somehow always ended up in trouble for talking too much. To this day, I still love to talk and the feeling of discovery; new places, food, experiences, etc.
