Pamela, it’s been too long since we last connected. Thanks so much for taking the time to share your thoughts with our community again. Some readers might have missed our prior conversations, so maybe you can kick things off for us with a quick intro?
I am Pamela D. Smith, a Wife, Mother, Prayer Leader, Speaker, Author, and Mentor. I help women use prayer, writing, and self-care to live purposefully and serve authentically. My books are written for the modern-day woman of faith who desires to live a lifestyle of prayer and demonstrate her faith in the marketplace. The pages of my books, my speeches, and my mentoring ministers to the woman who wants to walk boldly in her purpose and understands that faith and purpose is not limited to those behind a pulpit or a podium.
What has prayer done for you personally?
It has been how I have received strength during times where I didn’t know I could be strong. It has brought joy and hope to me during times of sorrow. Prayer has given me peace in troubled times and I have received divine guidance, clarity, and empowerment all from prayer. It’s why I didn’t lose my mind when I was depressed and dealing with anxiety. It has truly been my lifeline.
What can you tell us about prayer?
I can tell you that prayer works. I can tell you that when we pray according to God’s will we are guaranteed victory. I can tell you that prayer is our communication and our connection to our Source. I can tell you that prayer reveals purpose, fuels us with power, and unlocks potential.
Do you believe that prayer is essential in business?
Yes I do. Business is hard. Very hard. So prayer gives us confidence and it recharges us when we feel overwhelmed and stressed in business. Just as meditation centers us, prayer does the same. We receive wisdom through prayer so that helps with deciding things like who we should do business with, if we should make certain business moves, and prayer even confirms timing (when we should make certain business moves).
What would you say to the person who doesn’t believe in prayer?
I would tell them that they do believe in it, it just may not look like what we traditionally know as prayer. Prayer is more than getting on our knees with our hands against each other and saying what we want. Prayer can be a thought. Prayer can be a written letter. Prayer can be a song. Prayer can be a spoken request. So no matter how someone does it or what they may call it, I think everyone has a way to communicate and connect with a higher power, a divine source. Mine happens to be called prayer and my Source is Jesus. Alright, so before we go, how can our readers connect with you to learn more and show support?
