Today we’d like to introduce you to Xavier Miller.
Hi Xavier, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I was born and raised in Chicago, IL. At the age of 20, I joined the United States Air Force and was sent to Beale AFB in Northern California. After being there for three years, I was tasked with a deployment to Al Udeid Air Base in Doha, Qatar. Before leaving for Qatar, I was advised by my supervision to get my will done just in case anything were to happen to me while serving overseas. Taking there advice, I went forward and got my will done and that was the turning point for me. During the moment of doing my will, I had a cruel realization that I did not own anything, I was 23 years old at the time and all I had was a 10-15 pair of Jordan sneakers, an Xbox, a watch and a little money in savings. At that moment, I immediately realized that I wasn’t taking life seriously enough and I committed myself to saving every dollar on my deployment and learning different investment strategies so I can build wealth for myself and future family.
Fast forward, I went on the deployment in January 15, 2017, and came back home seven months later and saved around $25,000 while being there and immediately started investing the money when I arrived back home on August 1st, 2017. I started investing in the stock market and cryptocurrencies and by the summer of 2018, that $25,000 I started with increased in value to over $100,000. Hitting six figures in net worth by age 25 was a huge goal of mine but I was not satisfied, by the fall of 2018, I started to diversity even more and bought my first of several rental properties in Detroit, MI. After doing that, my girlfriend and I decided to create a podcast (Millionaire Mindsets Podcast) where we wanted to share our experiences and information about wealth building we gathered over the past year and a half; we knew that it were many other young and older people that were brought up in similar environments as us where wealth building and different investment strategies are taboo. So we committed ourselves to consistently providing value by dropping episodes and also bringing on guest that had experience to share their stories as well.
Today, our podcast Millionaire Mindsets is consistently ranked a top 50 business podcast in America with over 1.3+ million downloads, being streamed in over 80 countries worldwide. Shortly after launching the podcast, I started my real estate company, Parkhill Capital Ventures, a company where we help first-time investors purchase there first investment property, to date we have helped over 50 people purchase there first investment property, something I am extremely proud of because real estate is one of the key pillars to wealth building. Lastly, and something I am probably mostly proud of is my non-profit. The Parkhill Capital Foundation is a non-profit my partners Deanna Kent, Arielle Hale and myself started in two years ago.
With the help of friends, social media followers and private funds, we’ve been about to purchased $7,500 worth of school supplies for an entire school in Sacramento, CA that lasted them the entire school year, provided food and clothing for families during the 2020 California wildfires and provided over 150 families with food and shelter during the Texas winter storm in 2021. This is extremely important to me because I come from humble beginnings, I was not always in the position I am in now and I know how many people that are struggling that would greatly appreciate any assistance, even if it is on a small level and with me being in a position to help others it is something that I don’t mind doing something that I truly take pride in. Today I am 27 years old with a six-figure business, six-figure stock portfolio, six-figure crypto portfolio and a six-figure real estate portfolio with so much more in-store and on my way to being a millionaire before the age of 30. I thank God for blessing me with the health and mental state to be able to accomplish any of this, also my family and significant other sticking with me and supporting me throughout the journey. I recently relocated to the great city of Dallas, TX in December of 2020 just for a change of scenery and to expand on business and I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I have ever made; the people here are amazing and their are so many like-minded creatives to connect with.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
I have been on this journey for over four years now and it honestly has been smooth. Obviously, it hasn’t been perfect and there were plenty of mistakes on the way, but it was nothing ever stressed me out or made me lose any sleep. I’m a simple person and I like to keep things that way because that mindset helps me keeps things in perspective. While being deployed serving in the military, I worked in 120-130 degree heat everyday for 12-16 hours, six days a week. So working in environments such as that prepared me for anything in the business and content creation world. The work that I do now is easy compared to that so that is why I say it has been extremely smooth.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Today, I am mostly known for podcasting and cryptocurrency. My podcast, Millionaire Mindsets, is a top 50 business podcast in America with over 100,000 downloads per month; we specialize in discussing subjects such as real estate investing, stock investing, building businesses, crypto investing, saving, budgeting, taxes and pretty much all things finance and wealth building. I am also mostly known for crypto investing; being someone that got into the crypto market before it was hugely popular, many people see me as a subject matter expert.
I also teach people how to get started in the crypto markets with my beginners to crypto guide at www.guide2crypto.com, in the guide, I teach how to buy crypto, what platforms to use, coins that I think are good to invest in longterm, paying taxes and more. What sets me apart from others, I believe is age, experience and background. Being someone who is only 27 years old, coming from a background such as Chicago, serving in the military and starting with nothing and creating a building a worldwide platform that not only shares information with the listeners but also have the experience and a proof of concept that shows how I got to where I am today is all the things that I believe sets me apart.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Absolutely, the most important thing that Covid-19 has taught me is the importance to keep at least $100,000 that is liquid and accessible at all times. The reason for this is because when Covid initially hit the prices on many things tanked immediately, and in that moment there were so many investment opportunities but I didn’t have enough cash on hand to invest as much as I wanted before Covid I believed as long as I have $30,000-40,000 cash on hand I’ll be fine and I can invest the rest. Covid showed me that that was not enough and that is why today I prioritize having at least six figures in an accessible account so the moment markets tank not only can I invest, but I can invest in excess and still have enough funds to do other things.
