Daily Inspiration: Meet Guevara Nation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Guevara Nation.

Hi Guevara, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up I didn’t really like the name Guevara. Guys made fun of it because it was so uncommon, however, girls loved it because it was so unique. As I got older, I started to realize the value in the name and I began to visualize “Guevara” as a designer brand, a cologne, or even an alluring drink. While sitting at my desk one day, I started typing my name in photoshop, using different fonts and styles and BOOM- my logo was born.

At that moment a fire ignited in me. I started envisioning my name on Rodeo Drive along with all the other designer brands. I started making designs and showing them to my friends and family and they loved them that was all the confirmation I needed to launch out. I thought it was going to be a breeze but I was wrong, but nothing great comes easy. I’ve fallen off a few times but it’s not about how many times you fall, it’s about how you get back up. Every day is a learning experience for me but I WILL NOT STOP until there’s a Guevara Store in every major city.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road hasn’t been smooth at all. A few things I struggled with is marketing, and finding the right manufacturers to produce my product. I truly believe that obstacles are set in our path so that we can learn tell someone else how we got through it. There’s always beauty in the struggle!

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I have a designer clothing brand. I’m known for my simplicity & uniqueness. Honestly, I think I’m most proud of watching my brand grow and seeing people in different cities support me.

We love surprises, fun facts and unexpected stories. Is there something you can share that might surprise us?
I’m a jack of all trades. I’m a musician, songwriter. Photographer, videographer, and a graphic designer. Those are just a few of my many talents.
