Conversations with Yasmin Martin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Yasmin Martin.

Hi Yasmin, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
HighClassSaditty started as a natural cosmetics and skincare line because, like every woman, young or old, we want to feel and look beautiful. Growing up, I was always a big girly girl. My favorite color is pink. I love lip gloss. I like to feel pretty, especially growing up with dark skin, but I was also kind of bullied because of it. Once I got older, my confidence grew more and I wanted to share that confidence with others!

Ultimately HighClassSaditty is for those who are finding and have already found their confidence. Every girl should feel bold and beautiful no matter her shade, weight, or whatever circumstances she may be facing. I make natural cosmetics and skincare to BOOST our already naturally glowing skin and heighten our confidence so that women can feel good in their natural skin without trying to cover it up. I feel with just that, a bomb skincare routine and the perfect gloss, I can slay any day!

I named it HighClassSaditty because I want girls to feel like a luxury. I want them to treat their bodies like royalty. I want them to feel superior and of a higher standard. Women should never feel basic! So I pray that when using my products it boosts them up in the way it does for me. YOU GLOW GIRL!!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It definitely hasn’t been the smoothest. As small business owners, we all have our days. We think we should farther than we are at times. We have these goals set up that we feel we MUST reach at a certain time and if we don’t, it feels like failure. I’ve had many trial and error days, weeks, etc.

The biggest thing I’ve learned is to just keep showing up, be consistent and focus on today and tomorrow and not yesterday. Don’t overthink. Try not to compare yourself to others and just keep going if you love what you do. That ONE good day or week definitely makes up for the days where you feel like you’re not doing enough and seeing the work pay off. On top of the people that always show up for you because your business shows up for them. I can only pray that my business reaches more people and greater heights, but in the meantime, I’m doing something I really love, so it’s worth it!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I’m known locally as a Gloss Fairy because I make natural, moisturizing, beautifully shaded glosses for all women and skin tones. My lip glosses are top tier and formulated to perfection, so they give you maximum shine and lip care. I also make natural skincare so that women aren’t putting harsh chemicals onto their precious skin! What you put on your body is a direct reflection of what is in your body, so we want to make sure we’re feeding it natural goodness.

I’m most proud of my products because I know I’m helping women grow their confidence and love their skin more. Self-care should be a number one priority in living a healthy life. I want women to be comfortable in their skin & love pampering themselves because they deserve it,

What’s next?
I have a lot of goals for the future. My biggest one is moving my online business to a storefront and having a full beauty boutique. I want ladies to come in and feel comfortable, treat themselves to pampering and leave feeling confident and beautiful! For now, I just want to continue to grow, reach people all over the world and really teach ladies the importance of self-care and feeling beautiful.
