Today we’d like to introduce you to Estefania Guerra.
Hi Estefania, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I have always had a passion for hair ever since I was little. I remember my parents buying me dolls. I wouldn’t play with them but, I will give them a makeover. When I was in middle school, I found out a local high school offered the cosmetology program. Luckily made it into the program before I knew it. I was a licensed cosmetologist before graduation. Right after graduation, I started working at a salon as and assistant. Six months later, I was promoted to having my own chair. I wanted to work somewhere where I can spend more time with my kids and husband so I started working at another salon. I was there for about one year and a half. But I knew I had something better for me even though there was a lot of people that didn’t believe in me, I believed in myself. I started renting a chair with little clientele but I had l a lot of faith that this was the right decision for my family and I. A year later, my clientele doubled I went from working six days a week to working four days a week. This allowed me to be with my family more time which is something that I always wanted. I am truly grateful for this decision that I made. I want to thank my instructors and family for all their help and support.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been easy at all building clientele and managing your own business can be stressful. I have faith that God helps me out of every obstacle that I interfere. Always believe in yourself that you can and you will do it.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Hair By Stephanie?
I work by appointment only Wednesday – Saturday. I offer women haircuts, treatments, blonding, highlights, ombré, balayage, hair color and keratin treatments. I love to meet new people the favorite part of my job is that I get to help women boost their self-esteem by making them look and feel pretty with a new look.
What matters most to you?
The bond and connection I make with my clients matter to me. I feel once they trust me with their hair, they trust me with everything before I know if I become their therapist and hairstylist, I love it! I gain clients that will stay with me for as long as they can. Also making sure to leave my chair happy and always satisfied with my work.
