Hi Shakari, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Shakari Tucker and I’m the owner of Jireh Bookkeeping & Consulting. I’m a Dallas native, a wife & mother to 3 beautiful girls. For many years now, I’ve been the go to person for family & friends when it comes to financial, development & spiritual advice. I didn’t quite understand why earlier on, but today it makes perfect sense.
Immediately after graduating high school, I was blessed to land a banking job with no experience. I learned a wealth of knowledge in the banking & lending industry but it wasn’t my final destination.
After years in banking, I was blessed once again to work in yet another financial role without experience. This time in Accounts Payable, a department within General Accounting.
From that point on, I continued to grow & elevate in the General Accounting sector. I strongly believe that each opportunity was necessary & led me to where I am today.
Eventually, my love for business came to the forefront. I realized that the work I’ve done in the corporate world could be done for business owners of all sizes.
I noticed the disconnect between business owners and their financials and I wanted to provide an affordable solution to that problem through bookkeeping & consulting.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would say it’s been pretty smooth for the most part. Majority of my clients located me & were ready to take their business to the next level.
At times, the struggle is relaying the importance of bookkeeping out to all business owners. It’s definitely something you can’t run from if you plan to grow & operate legitimately.
