As the founder of KP Carter Writes LLC, I have two goals. One is to create meaningful middle grade books with relatable characters who experience significant historical events. My books are sprinkled with humor, inspiration, and encouragement to support youth as they navigate the obstacles on life’s path. The other is to help parents learn ways to nurture the joy of reading while cultivating competent confident readers. For more information about Book 1 – Summertime with Lizzie B. So, as we mentioned to our audience earlier, you were introduced to us by Joylynn Ross and Path To Publishing and we really admire them and what they’ve built. For folks who might not be as familiar, can you tell them a bit about your experience with Path To Publishing.
A few years ago, a fellow author shared a Facebook post about a beach themed virtual book party. I thought it was a novel idea and decided to register for the live event. From the swim suit contest to other perks and ongoing opportunities to win prizes, I had an amazing time! That was my first experience with Joylynn and Path To Publishing. I will never forget it! Prior to that, I had read her delightful children’s book, The Secret Olivia Told Me. The students in my reading lab loved it and so did I.
My first virtual Path To Publishing conference in 2020 was amazing. Although I was unable to travel to Las Vegas in person, Joylynn went above and beyond to help those of us who were viewing the event feel like we were a part of the action. Also, I have ordered other workshops and courses. I can always count on Joylynn to provide valuable relevant resources and information in a professional manner to help me elevate my book business. I absolutely love her ability to deliver knowledge in a clear concise manner. She inspires me to achieve my goals.
Additionally, I had the opportunity to work with Joylynn on a deeper level when she edited Book 2 – Lizzie B. Hayes and the Great Camp Caper. She supported me every step of the way, provided exceptional feedback, and helped bring my book to life with excellence. I look forward to working with her again on my current project, Lizzie B. Hayes and the Seventh Grade Secret.
As a Pathfinder, I have access to pertinent literary resources and information through the private Facebook group. She is always willing to answer general questions and provide guidance. It is an absolute pleasure to work with her.
