Meet Cesar Soriano of Source Auto Glass

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cesar Soriano.

Cesar, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
After many years of working at the same company one day, I got the “itch” The best way to describe what is the itch is that moment when something inside you demands for an overall change. And there it was, the tiny little itch became a constant voice shouting not another day of living the same way. So, I took all the courage I had and gave my resignation.

Luckily for me, the same week during a get together with friends. One of them asked if I would be interested in joining forces to open an auto glass company. Within seconds my response was yes. Although, I had no previous experience on the industry whatsoever. I was really looking forward to it. New industry, new challenges, new growth, and it seemed doable. I remember saying that it was going to be a piece of cake. However, I could’ve not been further from the truth. As many business owners out there know. Everything started with a… fudge it! Let’s do this. A bold move to the unknown.

Within three months the partnership dissolved. At that point, everything I had was already invested in building this business. I had to re-open the company now without partners and no backup plan. Fast forward five years later. Now looking back to all those long late-night hours, the failures, the uncertainty, the ignorance as well as the awesome people I came across, the amazing memories, the learning process, the new discipling. I can honestly say that it’s well worth the sacrifice. Furthermore, the most important lesson that I’ve learned within the years running the company is the priority of clarity. When there is clarity on the direction of the company, the books, and purpose follow suit.

Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
There have been many pebbles on the road. The biggest I may say it’s understanding what a business is and it isn’t. In other words. The business is a machine with many parts working together at the same time. Like an orchestra playing a melody. All parts of the business same as the instruments on the orchestra need to be tuned separately. Keeping in mind each function and how they interact with other processes.

There will always be unexpected situations that may arise. Whether we like it or not. How we react to them is the real struggle. But, this is where the growth happens.

Please tell us about Source Auto Glass.

We want all clients to have a great and consistent experience every time. We always keep our eyes open for holes within the industry, the bigger players, and ourselves. If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
If I had to start all over. I will have done just about the same but organized and quicker.
