Today we’d like to introduce you to Shed G. Them and their team share their story with us below:
Meet Shedrick Garrett, as one of the hottest and blessed entertainers to hail from Denver, Colorado. Shedrick Garrett (Shed G) is a well-renowned comedian, actor and radio personality known for his clean faith-based comedy. Shed G brings a style of comedy that universally captivates audiences of all ages and races.
Shed G gained momentum by taking his talents to Atlanta, Georgia where he earned his credits on the big screen and television. He worked with Tyler Perry in hit movies: Madea’s Family Reunion, A Madea’s Christmas, Meet the Browns, Madea’s Halloween, A Madea’s Funeral, & Latest Movie To Hit Netflix A’ Madea’s Homecoming.
He now lives in Dallas.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It was a lot of challenges of living up to everyone’s expectations of being with Mr. Perry. Mr. Perry told me God blessed me with a lot of talents just be the best me I can be.
I also stopped asking God for everything and had the faith that he will provide everything I needed. Sometimes we sell ourselves short by asking for specifics when he probably had something bigger for you…
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
In 2019 I was named Christian Comedian Of The Year by Church Stars. I’ve always been involved with serving in the community. While In Minnesota, he helped build an event called Action Day with Greater Twin Cities United Way. This event brought in over 4,000 volunteers to help fill backpacks with school supplies. The goal of raising 50,000 backpacks was reached in 2019! Covid kept him from continuing project in 2020
When Shed G not working on his shows or traveling the nation performing, he loves running his mentor program, “Shed’s G’s Little Gentlemen” at Blue Ribbon Award-winning Friendship Academy. This program exposes young men with tools to help them become successful with conquering challenges life might present.
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I’ve learned along my journey is your work ethic will carry you a long way but when you make it, always reach back to help others. My grandmother Evangelist Ophelia Ephriam always told me that and now that I’m here, I understand why.
