Today we’d like to introduce you to Ranna Lynn.
Hi Ranna, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Healing animals has always been a huge part of my life – in fact, my earliest memory is of my mom and I am saving a sweet bunny on the side of the road when I was only five years old that had been hit by a car. She pulled over and picked it up while I was in the car screaming at the top of my lungs and crying. (because that’s what you do when you’re five, lol) We took it home, bandaged it up and put it in our chicken coop. I remember thinking about that little bunny all night long. When we walked out the next morning to check on it, all we found was the bloody bandage. It was there at that moment in my five years old mind that I had healed that bunny!
Now, I have been working with animals for over 30 years. First, in a standard veterinary clinic and most recently through canine massage, energy work and emotional trauma.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It hasn’t always been a smooth journey, during my time at the animal hospital our family began to see multiple health complications. That is when I started to shift my own lifestyle and began thinking about how some of these same principles could apply to our dogs as well. I became a professional researcher to help my entire family, pets included. I became a Certified Animal Naturopath, Certified Canine Massage Therapist and Healing Touch For Animals Practitioner. But still, often times when you turn to more holistic options and start questioning the norm, your actions begin to be ridiculed and dismissed.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am most know for my canine massage, I am currently in office on Thursdays at Scuba Sams. Massage in an un-invasive therapy which releases positive hormones such as Endorphin and Oxycontin. These hormones reduce stress and decrease or relieve physical effects of stress in the body. Decreasing stress level improves immunity, strengthens the circulatory system function, and promotes an optimal environment within the body for natural healing to occur. Massage can improve range of motion, reduce risk of injury, relieve pain, improve nerve function, and strengthen joint mobility. It has been through my massage practice that I began seeing a new trend.
I believe because of the strong bonds we have with our dogs that they can often take on our stress and mirror of our lifestyle choices, so the transformation starts at our “end of the leash”. By using the universal language of Traditional Chinese Medicine, we have the power to learn how to read our dog’s energy and emotions. Because most physical and behavioral imbalances can be addressed energetically. So I created The Elemental Lifestyling Method to help guide conscious dog moms to create a life in harmony to build deeper bonds by establishing new rituals to balance their energy & connection. Understanding our energy systems and how to master them is the absolute best thing we can do not only for us and our dogs but all of our relationships!
Are there any important lessons you’ve learned that you can share with us?
The most important thing I have learned to be brave enough to do things differently. There is always more than one way to reach your desired outcome and to be open to all of it.
