Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Hamilton.
Hi Aimee, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Photography has always been a passion of mine. I truly treasure all the {mostly} candid moments that are turned into tangible memories. When I was a little girl, I spent a lot of weekends at my Grandma’s house. I just loved when she would pull out the albums and tell me all about every photograph in them. I loved seeing myself as a baby, my parent’s wedding, holidays and family gatherings. I know I have her to thank for my photography obsession!
Years later, becoming a mother made me realize that I wanted to freeze every moment of my child’s life. I have so many pictures from my sons’ first year! I very quickly realized that photography was something I really loved doing! I dove deep into learning the technical side, composition, editing, and eventually signed up for as many workshops as I could find. From there, this amazing business that I love so much, really blossomed! It developed into a style all about capturing this beautiful journey we call motherhood.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Gosh there have definitely been struggles! We all know that 2020 brought a lot of challenges, but we also moved in the middle of last year! It is so hard to move a business across the state and rebuild everything from the ground up.
In addition to that, I think we all can relate to trying to juggle parenting with entrepreneurship! There are days when it just seems impossible to be present in both!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I specialize in photographing the early years of your family! I am known for my light and airy maternity, newborn, and family style. Most families come to me when they are expecting their first child for my first year membership and then stick with me for all the years after.
My clients are almost all new and expectant moms. I think we can all agree that the early days are just a blur, right? I provide my families with a stress-free experience that is unlike anyone else. I work with hair and make-up artists who will come to my studio to get make new mamas feel their best while I am photographing their baby. I offer a full wardrobe full of gorgeous hand-picked options for the whole family to borrow, and have done my best to create a relaxing, and stress-free studio vibe!
What does success mean to you?
Oh this is a good one! We all define success differently, don’t we? I used to think success was driven by monetary values. As my business has grown, I have realized that success is really driven by my clients! I feel successful when my clients are happy, leave raving reviews, and come back over and over.
