Community Highlights: Meet Adayshia Babers of Bombshell Bratz

Today we’d like to introduce you to Adayshia Babers.

Hi Adayshia, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It started off as a dream as a kid, but I didn’t take action until my Senior year of high school. My mom would buy me sketchbooks and I’d use them to create my own outfits. Eventually, she gifted me a sewing machine at 11/12 and I taught myself how to stitch and sew.

My best friend and I always talked about owning a boutique and having our own clothing lines and being young bosses, so our Senior year we saved up our money and created “Bombshell Bratz”.

About 2 years later, we both have our own businesses but I decided to stick with Bombshell Bratz because that was my baby! That was me jumping in headfirst and trusting myself, believing in my dreams and my gift!

Today, I am still up and running, but Bombshell Bratz will be expanding and rebranding. I am still a small business but I am far from where I started and will continue to grow and prosper.

I have faced so many obstacles with pregnancy, death, and etc. But I never gave up on Bombshell Bratz because that would be me giving up on myself!
“Why would I quit after 3 years when I could blow up on the 4th year?!” Faith over fear. Mind over matter.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
This journey has been everything but smooth! Right after I graduated I found out I was pregnant at 18. Having a baby pushed me to go harder with school and my business, but realistically it has not been easy! A few months later I lost my great grandmother to Covid and 4 months after that I lost my soulmate. My boyfriend of 5 years who I have a beautiful baby with.

So yeah, this journey has been one hell of an experience, but I refuse to give up. I have a daughter who is looking up to me, and I want her to be able to say “my mom never gave up”.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
Bombshell Bratz is a local/online boutique. At the moment I specialize in women’s clothing, but expanding!

I am always looking for ways to stand out from other boutiques in this era. It is very competitive with so many people doing the same thing, I feel as if I stand out creatively with my brand and our image. With the graphics (that I create), the videos, and our drive we stand out from that alone! But of course, I am always coming up with new ways to come out on top!

I am very proud of my brand and its growth. My purpose is to provide women (and hopefully men, and children) A1 quality and affordable clothing. I love to make people feel beautiful because when you look good, you feel good! Which is also my goal as a Makeup artist and Hairstylist.

What are your plans for the future?
At the moment, Bombshell Bratz is transitioning and rebranding into a new name and image. I want to open my own boutique and salon right in downtown Dallas and of course have multiple locations all over. I have no time frame set for when this will happen but just know that it will!

I will continue to push myself to this goal of mine because it isn’t impossible!
