Today we’d like to introduce you to Kash Patel.
Kash, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I moved to Dallas in 2005 and borrowed money to purchase my first Hotel in 2006. From there I began renovating and bringing life back into an older hotel. As a kid I was always intrigued with construction and how stuff was put together and built. After completing my first 100 room hotel and getting the contractor bug I began to purchase rental homes and renovating them. From there I started to build my own hotels and other commercial buildings. Fast forward 15 years and a lot of learning in the field I now have various businesses of being subcontractors for other General Contractors as well as still General contracting for others as well as myself.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
There have been many hurdles that I have had to overcome throughout my career. I have learned there are many things that can’t be taught it just comes with time and experience. Learning to foreseeing potential problems and get in front of them as well as deal with them head-on is the best approach. Fredrick Douglas put it best “Without struggle, there is no progress”.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
Best job description on what I do is I’m a serial entrepreneur. Primarily we construct and develop for our own projects, but we do third-party as well.
Our main focus is development and construction, with a concentration in Hotels, Multi-Family, Retail, Office, Custom Homes and Medical Offices. On the construction side we are not only just a General Contractor, but we also have our own Underground Utility, Concrete, and Earth Work Divisions.
Recently, we also purchased and opened a commercial door company, stone fabrication and well a cabinet shop. What mainly sets me apart from others is whatever we do is with quality. Quality isn’t an option it’s the only choice.
What has been the most important lesson you’ve learned along your journey?
To never be the smartest person in the room. To constantly learn from everyone and everything around you to make yourself a better person whether it be in life or work.
