Today we’d like to introduce you to John Brown.
Hi John, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My start was as a rapper primarily. I’ve been involved in music for the better part of the last 15 years. I’ve had the pleasure of knocking off a few bucket list items along the way. Within my journey as an artist, I became enamored with the other aspects of the culture, and felt that there was a way that I could showcase or highlight various individuals, brands, and content creators, who typically don’t receive the acclaim that they deserve. This led me to starting my own media company, AllOva Media.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road Lol, but I will say that every obstacle I’ve faced only prepared me for the next one. I think the struggle that most start up companies face, is figuring out how to generate revenue from your product/services. Another obstacle I faced initially was building a team of individuals willing to work towards a common goal. Oftentimes you realize that too many separate agendas can hinder growth and progress, if not cultivated properly. Another challenge, which I am still getting accustomed to, was learning how to lead, and being responsible for the wins , as well as the losses.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am what I like to call a “Content Creator” in the media/entertainment field. My company Allova Ovaall LLC. is a media company that provides professional standard visual and audio content for those looking to take their content to the next level. Whether that be a podcast (Audio and Visual if needed), web series, commercials, sketches, graphic design, logos, flyers, Merchandise, ETC.
I am also a hip hop artist, I am currently in a partnership with Galaxy 9 Productions to produce and assist with all things music related. Being a part of the hip-hop culture as a performer, as well as an individual that documents and covers the music scene provides a unique perspective. and is what set me apart from others occupying this same space I am most proud of my journey, as well as the progress that we have made as a company over the past year. and a half.
AllOva Media has also partnered with Smallz Exclusive Arts Studio to assist in our vision to bring forward the best visual content, in an atmosphere that is conducive to professionalism and success.
What matters most to you?
I base my life, as well as my business model around 4 primary principles; Respect, Honor, Loyalty and Integrity.
Being able to incorporate these things into everything that I do allows me the ability to do the things that I love wholeheartedly. My family also matters deeply to me, my wife and children inspire me to be a better man. Being a positive influence in their lives ranks right at the top for me as well.
Knowing where I come from matters to me as well, this being the barometer that I use internally to determine how far I’ve come, as well as how much further I have to go.
