Meet Kae Saephan

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kae Saephan.

Hi Kae, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I took an ornamental horticulture class in high school and discovered that I really enjoyed plants and flowers. In college, when I needed a job, I gravitated towards flower shops. I love the reaction that flowers create. It really is such a natural and wonderful joy. I’ve always wanted to start a floral business, but ‘later’ just never came.

Even though COVID times continue to be challenging, it also gave me a lot of free time and suddenly, ‘later’ was here. It’s definitely a lot of work, but it’s so rewarding. If I had to do things over, I’d definitely would’ve started this journey sooner!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I know some people like to browse as they shop and as of this writing, I currently don’t have a website. It’s something that I plan on having soon, but in the meanwhile, I make sure to actively check all my inquiries. The balance between my family and business can be challenging. It’s a constant battle and sometimes, it can be overwhelming. I really wish we had more than 24 hours in a day.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I’m a local florist. My artistry is what sets me apart. Being my own boss allows me the creativity to personalize every arrangement. In particular, I have a knack for blending colors and textures. Pablo Picasso famously declared that ‘the meaning of life is to find your gift, the purpose in life is to give it away.” I’m sure he’d be okay with a small fee. 🙂

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
My husband has been my single greatest supporter. He’s encouraging and constantly reminds me that doubt is simply a stepping stone. When I’m feeling uncertain, his calming presence has a way of simplifying everything. He is the rockstar in my life! I have amazing friends who have been my cheerleaders since the beginning. Their friendship has been invaluable, and I feel truly blessed to have their love and support.

One of the reasons we moved to Frisco was because of the community. The support I’ve received from the community has been nothing short of amazing. Local social media groups such as Frisco Area Business Mom’s have been essential to my success and basically, launched by business. It’s a wonderful place for local moms to share their businesses and support our local community.
