Conversations with Radha Dalal

Today we’d like to introduce you to Radha Dalal.

Hi Radha, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I was obsessed with self-love before it was a trend. As a little girl, I would dress up and have tea parties in my backyard with my princess teacups and imaginary treats with my grandpa. Fast-forward a couple of decades and I used to think that self-love was bath bombs, high tea, and spa days. And in full transparency, part of that is still true to me. But for the past 5 years, self-love has transformed into how I talk to myself and what words am I choosing to say to myself over and over.

The reason why I was obsessed with Self-love was that I knew what it felt like to be insecure, I knew what it felt like to have self-doubt. I knew what it felt like to feel shame. I knew what it felt like, not to love myself.

For decades, I would keep my insecurities and negative self-talk to myself, after a devastating heartbreak in 2015, I decided to get external help. It was interesting. I was a Mental Health professional and I had resistance to receiving support. I understood the value of Therapy, Sacred Space, and overall Wellness. And, yet the resistance was there.

Through self-expression, healthy dialogue, mind-body-soul connection, and professional help: I found sustainable habit change. I noticed that I started to keep the little promises that I would make to myself. You know, going to yoga class, resting, reading a book. and resting. There were bigger promises that started to develop and nourish as well.

Growing up, with a South Asian background, I felt the pressure to meet certain “cultural expectations.” To be perfect. I don’t think I even knew what “perfect” meant. That definition was always evolving. But this impermeable term of perfection loomed in every decision I would make. I was trying to meet a set of expectations made by someone who wasn’t me. Sometimes, my mom, sometimes friends, sometimes my partner, and sometimes the external auntie group.

I was always looking for external validation. The minute I gave myself permission to validate myself and gave myself credit, the trajectory of my life shifted forever. I started to choose myself. I chose my own values and I followed my gut and intuition and created Pink Rose Wellness.

I threaded together pieces of conversations with patients in hospitals and my own emotional abuse journey and negative self-talk into a new holistic health approach on shifting one word at a time. This is what I now refer to as the building blocks of self-love, where I believe, true unconditional self-love, healthy decisions, and boundaries can begin.

I wanted to be the person that my niece would be proud of. I wanted to be the person I always dreamt of.

So here I am dreaming bigger and opening up my heart to unexpected miracles. 🥰🌻

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I WISH! There have been many challenges and learning curves for my journey. Shifting from Employee to Entrepreneur was a mind shift, body shift, and soul shift. Every aspect of my life went through a massive transformation.

When you own an online business, it becomes very transparent in who supports you and who doesn’t. Unfortunately, it became very transparent which loved ones were willing to support me and who didn’t. It was a hard pill to swallow and something that I am still navigating through.

There were technology, accounting, and administrative tasks that I needed to learn from the bottom up. It was very time-consuming and difficult to live in areas that were many of my weaknesses.

Throughout this journey, I learned very quickly that external validation would not be sustainable. I also learned that I don’t have to do everything in my business, I am allowed to ask for help and hire contractors.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am an Entrepreneur, Coach, and Podcast Host. I help burned-out women reclaim confidence and intuition by mastering their mindset and reconnecting with their mind, body, and soul. I integrate ancient healing modalities with modern-day transformative coaching techniques that not only create sustainable habit change but align with true identity shift, allowing the client to get from where she is to where she wants to be. I created a unique 90-day experience allowing the client to really create healthy changes through a bite-size model and narrative approach. The narrative approach, allows the client to identify their limiting beliefs and shift them to limitless, expansive beliefs that affect the trajectory of their lives forever. This intimate 1:1 experience allows the client to reclaim their narrative and rise into their own unique radiance.

Buzzfeed named Millennials the Burnout generation. Burnout Symptoms can show up unique to the individual and there are some general symptoms such as low motivation, apathy, headaches, stomach aches, irritability, and emotional exhaustion. Our Central Nervous System was not made for this amount of stress in such a short period of time. Pair burnout with Imposter Syndrome and you may be feeling overwhelmed, underappreciated, and completely dissatisfied.

75% of Women suffer from Imposter Syndrome. The inner critic, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and procrastination of Imposter Syndrome can be paralyzing. It can make many women feel stuck. I know this to be true – because I have felt stuck along my journey several times. I have felt burned out and emotionally exhausted several times.

A huge shift in my trajectory was the unlearning of the predominantly White Supremacy culture of Perfectionism. While Meditation and Yoga Roots practices can result in productivity the essence of Yoga is in union and nourishing the relationship with the Self. I am on a mission to reclaim my roots and disrupt the Wellness industry. Self-validation and Self-Love are my top values and what I strive to teach and embody every day.

Of all my titles, I consider myself most a Wellness Enthusiast. I am most well-known for creating personalized affirmations for my audience and clients. I am most proud of my about to connect with others and my podcast, Growing with God, where I dive deep with ordinary women who are doing extraordinary things in this world.

As a South Asian Woman, who is reclaiming her roots, heritage, and ancestral power, I infuse my unique light into my work, my clients, and my life.

Fun Fact: my middle name means ray of light.

Are there any apps, books, podcasts, blogs or other resources you think our readers should check out?
I am obsessed with the Affirm it app by Payal Aggarwal. The guided affirmations and resources are quick, fun, and immediately raise my vibration. I often binge the podcast Almost 30 and the Social Justice work by Susanna Barkataki. Susanna wrote the book Embody Yoga Roots, which teaches Yoga, and is a true warrior in the Yogi Social Justice space. I also am a huge fan of YouTube and always search for Self-Love Sound baths.
