Today we’d like to introduce you to Aimee Daily.
So, before we jump into specific questions about the business, why don’t you give us some details about you and your story.
Ever since I was a little girl, I knew that doing hair and makeup was what I wanted to do. I can remember being 5 years old and getting my little sisters’ glammed up for fashion shows for our parents. It’s just always been a passion of mine. Through high school I did all my friends hair and makeup for our dances and proceeded to attain my license in Cosmetology after high school. It was then that I launched A Modern Cinderella. Since I had styled hair and makeup through high school, I already had a ton of experience when I started professionally. Wedding are my favorite, and so it was nice to have pictures of things I had done to show potential brides. Now I do weddings all the time and have built quite the portfolio. I’m so thankful for all the brides that gave me a chance early in my career!
Has it been a smooth road?
Surprisingly, it actually has been a smooth ride for me. Because I worked so hard through high school, doing all my friends and anyone who would let me do their hair and makeup, I had a great reputation and portfolio to show possible clients. Thankfully, I am also at the age where all my friends are getting married! I love getting my friends all done up for their special day!
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the Aimee Daily ~ A Modern Cinderella story. Tell us more about the business.
I am a licensed cosmetologist and I specialize in hair and makeup for special events and weddings. I’m a hairdresser by day and hair and makeup artist by…weekend, haha! However I do weddings and events any day of the week. A few things that set me apart from others are, I am licensed cosmetologist so I not only can get you all glammed up for your big day but I can also cut and color your hair prior. I’m licensed in makeup; a lot of people love to do makeup, and are probably good at it, but are not always licensed. I also absolutely love what I do so you’re guaranteed my best work, always! I think one of the most important things in this business is to love what you do. If you don’t love what you do it’s “just a job”. But if you love what you do it will always shine through you for people to see. When you work so closely with people they can always tell if you enjoy what you do or not. If not you’re confident in yourself, your clients won’t be confident in you.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Trends come and go but true beauty is eternal. People will always want to look their best for every special moment in their life. This always has been and will be a passion of mine and I hope to keep doing it forever.
