Conversations with Ashley Jones

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ashley Jones.

Hi Ashley, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself
I began my event planning career while in Undergraduate & Graduate school. Although I studied Education and is currently Dean of Students in a DFW school district, I could not ignore the tug at my heartstrings for event planning. While studying in grad school & principal certification program, I continued to plan events such as birthday parties, baby showers, church programs, sorority events, etc. in my “spare” time. After many years of encouragement from my sorority sisters (Delta Sigma Theta Sorority INC.) friends & family, I formally began LoveJones EXTRAordinary Events! LoveJones EXTRAordinary Events is an event design & planning business focusing on creating fun, high style, and imaginative social events. I plan, design, and manage every celebration from concept to execution. Since every party or occasion is unique, so is my approach on handling that event. Thus, I always make sure that my client’s requirements and requests are always on top of my mind and executed to the best of my ability. I ensure that all my clients have a personalized experience. I care about making your concept and design planning the best possible experience for everyone involved. Each event is its own experience! I take care of all the small, specific details and arrangements so that my clients can focus on the important things. I make sure I understand your exact needs, so the event you imagine is the event you’ll get. I am here to make sure your vision comes to life!

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to LoveJones EXTRAordinary Events has not always been smooth. There have been trials and tribulations and more trial and error. There were moments where I wanted to say forget it all and just focus on the career that pays me because I was not getting the results I wanted. I was not sure how to get clients consistently, would people want to pay my prices, time management with LoveJones, and a full-time career. Now that I have kept pursuing my dreams of owning my own business, I have been able to gather more clientele for weddings, birthdays, graduation, retirement parties, baby showers/gender reveals, pop-up shops, and various other events.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
Education has always been an important part of my life. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education from Jarvis Christian College in 2011. After graduating from Jarvis, I attended Texas A&M University-Texarkana and received a Master of Education Degree in Curriculum and Instruction. I taught 6th and 8th reading then began the Principal Certification program at Lamar University a few years after. I recently moved into administration as the Dean of Students. Where I deal with behavior problems from students and mediate their interactions with one another to promote a better learning environment. Currently, I am most proud of my drive and determination in all things that I put my mind to. I dominated the classroom and now my mind is pressed towards dominating the event planning world. I have made long strides in my career and my expectations are to make even longer strides in my business. What sets me apart from others is my drive. Many people that work with me and are friends with me know that I do not stop until the job is done. If I start something, it sticks with me until finished. I am a to-do list person and I like seeing the list dwindle down to nothing, giving me the satisfaction of knowing that not only is a job done, but it was a job well done.

What are your plans for the future?
My plans for the future will be to keep giving my all my blood, sweat, and tears to LoveJones EXTRAordinary Events. I plan on my event planning business, to be the most sought-after event planning business in the DFW area! I am most looking forward to planning my first ever pop-up shop that will be held at Jambox in Frisco on October 23, 2021, from 2-5. I also look forward to planning a destination wedding in Florida for June as well. These are events that are close to my heart. I love to turn clients’ special moments to one they will never forget. I am also looking forward to a Valentine’s Day showcase for the lovers that will include local artists and food vendors for the lovers to come and enjoy as they express themselves to one another on a day that is dedicated to love and affection. Big changes that I am looking forward to, is enhancing my business and employing others to join my team and grow LoveJones EXTRAordinary Events to major heights.
