Today we’d like to introduce you to Milan, Ariel and Aaron Bender.
Built By Bender LLC is owned and operated by 3 brothers Ariel, Milan, and Aaron. Born and raised Texans, with a passion for art & design.
They grew up working in their parents bottled water company together. Their family was always big on reuse, doing it yourself, and learning new trades. Because of their versatile background they come up with original designs using a variety of contrasting materials. They were all doing side projects in their garages, building props, costumes, creatures for friends & photoshoots. They officially joined together as Built By Bender 1½ years ago knowing that their combined skills and creativity would be fun and successful. They’ve enjoyed working with many different residential and commercial clients providing custom woodworking, welding, furniture, fixtures, lighting, and art.
Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Every day we learn more and more. Some days the lessons are easy, some days hard. We’ve certainly taken on jobs with almost impossible timelines. We’ve worked through the night and headed to install the finished goods as the sun was peeking over the horizon. We have come out of a jobs in which labor or materials were underestimated and not made any profit. We’ve shipped out art to a hotel 3 days before it was installed, but we’ve been fortunate to have amazing clients and never really had any major problems.
Built By Bender – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
We offer design & fabrication services to the Photo Industry making props & sets for movies, commercials, & photo shoots.
We also cater to select commercial and residential clients, offering custom woodworking, lighting, & art.
We take extreme pride in original designs, precision craftsmanship, and timeliness. We get hired to handle the details of the build out that everyone will notice, the elements that have to be absolutely perfect.
What sets us apart is our ability to take a client’s needs from rough idea to a polished finished product that is built to last a lifetime.
What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
We built a spaceship installation for NATIONSTAR home mortgage’s corporate offices in Dallas. It included a backlit control panel with a functional doodle pad, as well as a space suit for when you really need to get away from the office drama.
