Meet Jane Sandifeer of Raintree Ranch

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jane Sandifeer. Them and their team share their story with us below:

Owners Scott and Jane Sandifeer bring over 40 years collectively working with large animals, executive business management, farm management, and private catering. They began rebuilding an aged farm in Farmersville TX and growing herds from the ground up, both cattle and sheep, starting in October 2013. Piedmontese cattle come from Italy and are raised in small herds in the US. Piedmontese are genetically superior, proven, and managed under strict genetic testing and verification for the myostatin gene. The myostatin gene C313Y variant found only in the Piedmontese breed is tested and confirmed on each animal and tracked to the package of beef sold to customers. The independent testing that over many years by the USDA MARC GermPlasm evaluations prove that the Piedmontese breed full blood and crosses carrying 1 to 2 copies of the C313Y gene is a healthier beef alternative, flavorful and tender. We also raise Southdown sheep for wool, show stock, and meats. This European breed is sustainably grass-fed, producing multiple products such as quality wool, flavorful, mild and tender meats. We process aged stock, dry age, and hand-cut superb quality meats from select small herds meticulously managed. Raising beef in Texas is common and expected. Raising a unique and healthy beef alternative is unexpected and a cut above anything else. Piedmontese beef is genetically consistent and just plain better!

Raintree Ranch Inc located in Emory, Texas was added in May 2019, further expanding our operations adding 452 acres of prime grazing, hay production, and The Estate Mansion Bed and Breakfast, event location nestled in the middle of the ranch.

The Estate at Raintree Ranch is an amazing estate mansion, one-of-a-kind location, and experience like no other. The Orleans-style home features exquisite finishes and nestled in a secluded location that we offered to the public for the first time in 2020 to host weddings, family, corporate events, and a premier Bed and Breakfast. This estate is 8200 square feet, four all-suite lavish bedrooms with private balcony access, sitting rooms, and appointments fitting that of fine French Orleans style with a modern flair. Surrounded with mature trees and highly maintained gardens, one can enjoy complete privacy and quiet relaxation throughout the estate grounds. The Estate is more a boutique luxury hotel as the mansion is not owner-occupied – we live in another house on the ranch.

Raintree Ranch is an inspirational location that we are honored to share with others. Featuring our all-natural grass-fed Piedmontese Beef and Southdown sheep meats, coupled with locally sourced fresh ingredients in flavorful farm-to-table creations for fine dining while staying at The Estate or participating in our private dinner and brunch clubs.

Jane is the resident chef – self-taught, specializing in farm-to-table four and five-course meals with menus created to pair best with seasonal flavors. Scott is the pit master for our smoked meat creations. Menus are crafted for each event to best highlight the event and guests’ personal selections.

Scott and Jane find such enjoyment to be part of guests’ special life moments. We have met amazing people, discover their stories, and share our own. It is a pleasure to create the experience called Raintree Ranch! We are often asked what to do while staying at Raintree. There are amazing opportunities to explore some great East Texas towns, fish trophy fishing lake Fork just minutes away or a short jaunt to the monthly shopping mecca Canton but many cancel their plans once at The Estate, choosing to stay and explore the ranch, relax in the luxury of the grounds and walk the ranches many paved roads within the gated private estate. We have an amazing array of wildlife, birds, butterflies, and beautiful landscaping to take in. Often you will find guests with a gourmet coffee and a good book on the wrap-around porches or multiple porch swings.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Ranching is hard work! Running a 452-acre ranch with a full-time BNB mansion and event operation and opening that operation to guests just as the pandemic hit. We strive for excellence of experience which means extensive attention to detail, unwillingness to compromise, and discerning eye for quality. That can be tough to accomplish with supply challenges – Emory TX is about an hour back to larger providers.

Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Raintree Ranch Inc?
