Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Romero.
Hi Joseph, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
I started out in real estate back in February 2017. Coming from a background in biology with a business minor. My goal was to become a doctor because that is what everyone said I should do. After giving it more thought, I one day decided that I wanted to do what I have always wanted to do, real estate. My parents thought I was crazy because they wanted a traditional career for me. For what I thought would be an easy transition from a steady paycheck to selling lots in real estate was not the case. I went from making money to having no money and struggling to making ends meet. My first year in real estate was absolutely one of the most trying and challenging years of my life. I was hosting every single open house, taking every phone duty opportunity, and volunteering myself to help any agent in need that would pay me. I was doing all of the right things, but with no results. For the first two years of my real estate career, my financial gain was almost nonexistent. On a positive note, I had gained many contacts and was establishing a concrete network
After evaluating where I was in life and professionally, I said to myself, I am going to give this my all for another 6 months. I was determined to not give up and to continue pushing myself everyday. Right around year 2.5, something changed for me. I started converting my network contacts into a transaction, and I found myself making some sales. Almost 5 years in the business I have doubled my business each year since that 2.5 year mark. I have been asked to speak many times by our CEO as a market shaper, being one of the youngest and building my business from scratch and serving as a leader in my local community. Now, this didn’t come easy for me, there were countless times that I had to make sacrifices, but I always said to myself, “Do not give up, you’re not going home and this is a marathon not a sprint.” I used my marathon skills and transferred that patience and strategy into the real estate market by advertising with videos, partnering with a close friend and highlighting Fort Worth businesses and posting those videos to many social media sites
During this journey, I learned to find peace within myself and being grateful for I was in life each moment. I learned to wake up being grateful for life and having opportunities that have propelled me professionally into the next level. Every transaction and every person has molded me and continues to mold me into the person that I want to become. My success has come from gratitude, my clients, and my spirituality. People are more than a transaction, they are critical and exceptional to my profession. Serving my community and being a team player are core ethics of my foundation. Believing in making a difference in the world in order to serve clients and the Fort Worth community. Gratitude is always tied to both my personal and professional goals. Utilizing outstanding communication skills, attention to detail, creativity, and knowledge when serving the community, clients, and associates is something I take seriously each day and remind myself always.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a real estate agent. I am most proud of my success and being a top producing agent.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My mentors, my sales manager Elizabeth, and all of my clients, friends and family. They have always believed in me and encouraged me to do better each and every single day.
