Hi Destiny, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
For the last five years, I’ve had a goal of owning my own lounge where I provide an environment for people to unwind & relax. I did not initially have the desire to start a mobile hookah business. When seeking for an investor or loan, I was denied and informed start-up funding was limited due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
I cannot recall the gentleman’s name, but he instilled some powerful advice in a 30-minute phone call which sent me back to the drawing board. This is where I came up with the idea of providing mobile hookah service. Mobilizing the business allows me to build the clientele and rapport/network while building the capital to invest into my own lounge.
I have history managing various restaurants/bars in Dallas and best known for the personable & professional qualities I bring to each individual business. The overall concept of Elevation Mobile Hookah remains documented in the business plan and ready to be executed in due season. The moral of my story is, never allow one barrier to stop you from executing your goal. Find another route or alternative, and God will guide your path.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Elevation Mobile Hookah Services is my first official profitable business. I have operated my nonprofit (Destiny’s Giving Hand Incorporated) for almost 5 years, which I considered a hobby as I love giving back to others. When I was continuously faced with denial after denial & rejection, I naturally became discouraged and concluded that it was possibly not my time to execute this plan.
After stepping on faith & investing into the business & supplies, everything began to fall into place. In any business, there are competitors so I knew my concept & vision had to stand out. The road has not been smooth but I continue to push through and find my lane in the business. Patience has been my biggest practice!
We’ve been impressed with Elevation Mobile Hookah Services, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Elevation Mobile Hookah Services was branded to be more than a typical hookah service. Although the full concept has not been released, the experience I provide at private events is unmatched. I like to cater to each individual event and make my clients’ moment memorable. For me, this business is more about making people smile & enjoying life. People can go anywhere for a hookah, but what makes them think of your business when hookah crosses their mind?
I have managed multiple businesses in Dallas where compliance, safety, customer satisfaction, & maintaining an atmosphere where customers want to return week after week were priority. I enjoy serving and interacting with the customers and building relationships in my current role as Operations Manager for a local restaurant/bar. I enjoy managing and developing the procedural outlines to increase revenue while ensuring long-term customer satisfaction.
Elevation Mobile Hookah Services strives to provide professional service in every setting. Our hookahs are untraditional & our flavors are crafted to cater to individual taste preferences. The name of the brand speaks for itself. When one is elevated, one is more likely to think & move at a higher level than before. The experience I bring to my clients in the mobile setting is only practice for the hookah lounge I will be blessed with in the future!
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Dallas is home and cannot be compared to any other city. I think when you compare Dallas to other cities, you develop unrealistic dislikes. Dallas has its own culture and you have to find the lane you fit in and stick to that. The connections are here, it’s just about your timing & maintaining a solid reputation. Once your reputation is tainted, that is a wrap!! LOL…But on a serious note, I pride myself in the reputation I have in the business sector. Loyalty and trust are hard to come by (from previous business experience). I consider myself a ‘hidden gem’. I am not always on the scene or known by everyone, but once the rapport and relationship are established, I guarantee I will be your best asset!
