Conversations with Naturally Cassie

Today we’d like to introduce you to Naturally Cassie.

Hi Naturally, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My life experiences and background have been my push towards success, hence, making it driving me to work hard and take risks for my goals to be achieved. I’ve been a model for about 4 years and have had the opportunity to work with various brands/companies.

Cassie, born and raised in Austin, Texas, is a creative, model, natural hair enthusiast, and digital influencer, with hopes to add more positivity to the world by increasing awareness on issues that are constantly faced in her community, creating content that’ll bring smiles to faces and serving as a reassuring voice to people that find it hard to believe in themselves or that they can achieve their dreams.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I’ve had so many obstacles and challenges, like finding it difficult to get a makeup artist for black skin, not having a hairstylist hair on set, resulting in me having to do it myself before shoots. Companies sometimes want a particular hairstyle for their ads so adapting to all of those unique requests and doing it on my own when I’m not a trained stylist can pose a challenge but I’ve continually adapted and learned in the process.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’ve been a model for about 4 years and have had the opportunity to work with various brands/companies & campaigns:

– I’ve worked with gab Union; I was in her 2018 flawless hair day campaign.

– Famn Djamn

– Cover girl for selva beat issue 4 magazine

– Worked with brands like Moët, Curlsmith & natural girl wigs, and so much more

Can you tell us more about what you were like growing up?
Growing up, almost everyone around or that I came across always mistook me for a model, even though the thought hadn’t crossed my mind. One day, I decided to take up my friend’s request for a photoshoot, and afterwards, my picture was featured in Crown Magazine, this kickstarting my career as a model.
