Exploring Life & Business with Newzad Brifki of BRIFKI

Today we’d like to introduce you to Newzad Brifki.

Hi Newzad, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
After my undergraduate degree in Business Administration, I opened a non-profit organization called the Kurdish Community of America to serve the community. I realized that many people had needs that were not being met. I realized that with my skills I could help a lot of families with affordable housing, employment, immigration, and access to all the resources in the community. A lot of the people I worked with were new to this country and I was a great asset for them to get on their feet real fast. After several years in the non-profit world and my clients moving out of poverty. They still came to me for other services such as taxes, application support center, business startups, etc… I decided to move into another step of my career in opening a consulting firm called Brifki Consulting. Here I would help with basic immigration filings, filing their taxes, and helping them open their businesses. Along the way, I wrote a book called, My Journey to America, A Kurdish American Story describing my life and my upbringing in the United States of America, which is available on Amazon. A few years later I got into Real Estate with Keller Williams. I know how important it is to own a home, which my slogan is; The American Dream Continues. The first year of my Real Estate career, COVID-19 hit and I was new to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. I did not want to waste my time trying to find clientele and the economy going downhill affected my new career. This gave me time to write my second book called, War Can’t Stop Love, The Story of Two Lovers Through Conflict which is also available on Amazon. I love the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The people really do have the Southern Hospitality. Even though most of my family is still up north, Minnesota and North Dakota, and some days I get homesick. This is really a great place to live despite the heavy traffic and long-distance everywhere one goes.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
In business, they say it always takes a few years to be successful. I have learned to deal with horrible customers, loss of income, the economy going downhill, moving to a new state, and of course COVID-19. Despite it all everything is a learning process. We all make mistakes and it’s okay because most of the time it’s not our fault. Learning from our mistakes and hitting the ground running again is what it is all about. Nothing is easy and if it was everybody would be doing the same thing. We are all unique in our own abilities whether it’s computer skills, communication skills, business skills, or whatever else it may be. We have to do what we love. If we don’t like what we are doing then we are in the wrong career. Having said that, a job is a job. Whatever one is doing to make money and paying their bills is what it’s all about. Your business can be a side hustle until you make it.

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice to anybody starting something new is don’t give up. Never give up. There are going to be days where you will tell yourself do something for real. Get a 9 to 5 job and don’t worry about anything. Remember this; no matter what you do one will endure hardships along the way. Everything takes time and failure is part of the journey. I ran twice for office and lost both times. I did not give up and even though at moments I knew that I would not win the election I continued and was consistent. Just because I was not an elected official my name is still there in the history books and the experience, I gained was more than enough for me. Remember no matter what you do you cannot make everyone happy. As long as you are kind, professional, and have integrity do not worry about anyone or anything that will try to bring you down.
