Conversations with 66.6 The Horror

Today we’d like to introduce you to 66.6 The Horror.

Hello 66.6 The Horror, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
We are a group of friends that share a passion for horror. We originally got together just to have fun and talk about horror movies. It quickly evolved into creating a variety show in the in the style of mid-century radio shows with discussions, sketches, and music numbers. We pride ourselves in the fact that all music, image, and production is handled solely by the three of us.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The journey has not been without its bumps in the road. Learning and investing in a technology, that we do not have prior experience with, has certainly helped us evolve and be creative in improvising in our acquired profession. We are very grateful for all experiences we have come across in our journey, for better or worse.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
We are known for being the podcast where we “address, stress, and obsess over everything that is horror”. Each episode showcases a different horror movie. Though we are not film critics and we don’t particularly review movies, we discuss films from the angle of nostalgia and bringing out our inner child, covering not only the movie itself, but discussing its packaging, merchandise, and legacy. What sets us apart is that we re-enact our initial experience with each film through sketch comedy, taking place at a video store. All music and sound is produced and written by us.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Communication has been key for three minds with the same goals and dreams, but we all travel there using three separate and different vessels. Having fun has been the most economic fuel for providing the smoothest ride.
