Today we’d like to introduce you to Noah Williams.
Hi Noah, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, I had never been athletic. I was always one of the heavier, bigger kids, and that was something I had always been insecure about. Most of the other kids my age would make jokes, or poke fun at me about my size, which only made my outlook on myself worse.
After turning fifteen years old, and my mother, Dana, making multiple efforts across the years to get me active and eating healthier; I had reached a peak weight of 245 pounds at 5’9. Years of being sedentary, lazy, eating whatever I wanted, and not being health-conscious finally caught up with me. Along with a host of other health issues; my blood pressure was extremely high and I was pre-diabetic, but it still wasn’t enough to motivate me to focus on my diet, work out, or be active.
One day, my mother said that we were going to the YMCA (our local gym at the time) together. I’d been before, but only when I was much younger and unable to step foot in the weight room. Unbeknownst to me, she had set up an appointment for a meet and greet with a personal trainer there, Nick, to discuss what we could do to start working towards a healthier life for me. Nick asked a couple questions about my background, my habits pertaining to working out and nutrition, then laid out a plan for us to begin working with.
Shortly after our meeting that day, we had my first (of three) training sessions. I remember being nervous, my heart racing, and dreading what was to come on the drive over. The second my mother and I got back in the car after that first forty-five-minute session; I passed out. It wasn’t from poor training on Nick’s part, or anything related to that, but it was due to it being the first time I ever truly exerted myself, and it wiped me out. Fifteen minutes later, I came back to life, and my mindset had forever changed. I loved ever second of what we had done in those forty-five minutes and wanted more.
To this day, Nick has been one of the most instrumental people in my long-term success, as well as a massive source of motivation for me when I first began my journey.
Fast-forward to nine months later, and I had gone from 245 pounds to 149 pounds. I lost close to 100 pounds in total — ninety-six pounds to be exact. In hindsight, that was definitely not the smartest thing to do, but I was eager, determined, stubborn, and didn’t have the knowledge that I do now. For most, losing close to 10 pounds a month is not safe or sustainable, and the key to achieving any fitness goal is to make it sustainable. Remember the story of The Tortoise and the Hare? The same thing applies to fitness goals. However, most people do not have patience, try to throw the whole kitchen sink at things from the get-go, then either hit a wall eventually and have nowhere else to go or burn out well before that point.
The day my fitness journey shifted its focus was the day I went to the gym for a chest workout, laid down on the bench, and got stuck with only the bar on my chest… no weight, just the bar. At that very moment, I realized there was far more to life and fitness than having abs. From then on, I spent hours and hours, and hours (at least 4-6 hours every day) pouring over every single piece of information I could find. YouTube videos, forum posts, websites and blog posts, books, direct questions to people who were knowledgeable in the field — anything and anywhere I could find information; I was on it.
Fast-forwarding again to 6 years later and I had competed in my first bodybuilding show called the Heart of Texas as a teen, where I placed third in my class, and I competed in the Clash of the Barbarians powerlifting meet in Fort Worth, TX, where I won best in squat (#564), bench press (#424), deadlift (#606), won the junior division, and won the meet overall. I have coached hundreds of individuals to achieving their fitness goals — losing body fat, building lean muscle, improving strength, growing their confidence, improving their outlook on life, restoring their health, with dozens of those individuals also losing fifty pounds or more.
Currently, I am planning to compete in my second bodybuilding show in 2022, after some much-needed time to focus on building muscle and bringing the best look I possibly can to the stage. I do not train in-person nearly as much anymore, but instead coach/train remotely. Essentially, what I do, is find out what an individual’s goals are, what their lifestyle is like, what kind of eating habits they have, what their schedule is like, and build a diet and training plan customized entirely based off their specific needs and goals.
From there, we check-in via e-mail weekly (or daily depending on whether more guidance and direction is needed) where the client will update me on their weights each day (or every few days) from the previous week, send progress pictures for me to assess the changes to their physique, and fill out a journal template covering everything from energy levels, sleep, stress, hormones (more-so for women specifically), difficulty or ease of adhering to the plan, how the workouts went, etc., from the previous week, so that I can accurately make the adjustments needed (if there are any to be made) to continue moving things along in the right direction.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It most certainly has not been a smooth road. As anyone who has ever set out with some kind of fitness goal can tell you; there are plenty of bumps in the road, frustrations, plateaus, and other obstacles that will get in the way. I’ve finally reached a point where I know enough to easily get past these things, but back when I had first started out… there were many times I contemplated giving up, or if that’s just where my body was meant to be. If you’re reading this and have thought the same thing, I assure you it’s not the case!
The main benefit and luxury of working with coach/trainer such as myself is that I have seen, gotten stuck, and broken through any plateau you have faced personally or can think of, I have spent years learning and applying what I have learned, and I know exactly what to do when that obstacle comes along to keep things moving smoothly.
We’ve been impressed with Noah Williams – Online Fitness Coach, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
I am an online fitness coach and personal trainer (less of a personal trainer now than I am a fitness coach due to the flexibility, but I still train in-person from time to time). Most will know what a personal trainer is, so I’ll explain what being an online fitness coach entails.
To put it simply, I design custom diet, training, nutrition, and supplementation plans based entirely off of each individuals’ goals, as well as bodybuilding competition and powerlifting meet prep for those who are more advanced. I provide everything needed to reach your goals in the fastest, most efficient, safest way possible, and all the individual has to do is follow my direction. I also aim to educate everyone who I work with, with the ultimate goal of having them not only reach their goal, but also gaining the knowledge to continue on for themselves, and be able to reach any future goal without having to rely on someone else for guidance. There is no level of individual who I will or won’t work with. Whether you are just starting out, or have advanced to some of the highest levels of proficiency in fitness; I can help you reach your goals.
What sets me apart from others is that I truly do value each individual client, and put the time and effort in as if it were myself being coached. I have worked with coaches in the past, and have had some very bad experiences, even though I ultimately did reach my goals. My personal mission with coaching is to deliver all of the positive aspects of the experience (progress, knowledge, growth), with none of the negatives.
The thing I am most proud of would honestly be seeing the success and happiness of my clients. Whether it’s a five-pound loss after just starting out, or the many, many fifty-plus pound transformations I’ve been able to play a part in; I live to see the happiness and positive impact that comes in part from what I do.

What do you think about happiness?
Seeing the progress of my clients. This is what truly makes me happy because I have been in their same shoes. I have been on every end of the spectrum, I know how demoralizing and depressing it can be, and I know how thrilling and life-changing it can be. All I’ve ever wanted after beginning my journey is to give even one person the same experience that I had because it changed my life forever, and in the most positive way possible.
