Rising Stars: Meet Jonathan Anderson

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jonathan Anderson.

Hi Jonathan, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I played baseball until the age of 28 and never imagined the lessons I would learn on the field would help me in business. After baseball, I learned the ins and outs of business by spending the next 9 years in the financial services, pharmaceutical sales, construction, and lastly technology consulting. As you could imagine I learned quite a bit and learned several business languages that allow me to converse in various environments. The last company I worked with allowed me the opportunity to help write the innovation strategic plan for a large project for what was then known as DCCCD. I hired one resource for the project, Maria Brackenridge Smith, and we delivered a strategic plan a well known large consulting firm failed to deliver for 3 years in only 13 weeks.

Upon completion, the company and I parted ways and I decided to start In Group International and begin my innovative solutions and services journey. It is important to note while working with that organization I had 500+ conversations with high-level corporate employees and decision-makers. I recognized a gap when different people working with different organizations mentioned the same problem that was not being addressed. They wanted innovation specific to their industry!

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
Covid definitely caused issues. I started my company in August of 2019. It took me a few months to get everything rolling and as soon as we had a few projects ready to kick off, budgets were cut and I found myself back at square one. Again, I made an adjustment by starting Noonish Sports and Tech Podcast/Broadcast Show while continuing to build In Group International as budgets opened up.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am a strategic consultant, a connector of buyers and sellers and a broadcast host. I enjoy the process of advancing and leveraging technology in creative ways that improve internal and external user experiences and user journeys. My company specializes in, Strategic Planning, Digital Marketing, Design and Development, Network Infrastructure, Theming, Signage, and Sustainability. I am most proud of our ability to adapt and grow in 2020. As one of my respected colleagues stated, what sets us apart is our ability to execute. That may seem simple but in technology having a dependable team who can execute time and time again is priceless.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
You are only as good as your team and take your time vetting potential partners. Communication is key. Everyone knowing and understanding their role is extremely important.
