Inspiring Conversations with Rotem Haddas of Rotem’s Pilates and Rehabilitation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rotem Haddas.

Hi Rotem, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
During the last few years of my professional tennis career, rehabilitation and prevention were attracted me a lot. While I was working in a Veterans Rehablitation center with patients with stroke, Diabetes, Parkinson and other neurological disorders, I decide to work on my first Pilates certification. After gaining experience in training in some local luxury gyms and mastering a higher level of training in Pilates, I decided to open my own Pilates studio in 2018. I started as a very small business and grow up rapidly. Today, the studio has 6 pilates instructors with the full support of local spine surgeons, physical therapists, nutritionists, and ergonomists. In our studio, we focus on preventative methods, strengthening the core muscles, lengthening posture-related muscles, improving balance, and spine alignment for an optimal posture. We serve a variety of clients, from patients with chronic and acute low back and neck pain, patients after spine or lower extremity surgery, elderly, pre-and post-partum women, adolescents, and athletes. My Pilates studio is a natural station followed by physical therapy treatments. It can take patients to their next health level and keep them away from the pain for the long term. Before the first session, we will connect with your therapist, coach, and trainer to determine the optimal workout goals. We will work with you and your therapist to advance you to the next level. For elite athletes, I will work hand to hand with your coach to prevent future injuries as well as lengthen muscles and strengthen the core.

After working hard in the past 4 years to develop and grow my own business, I am consulting other small businesses and leading a group names ‘Women in Suit”. There, I am helping other small businesses to grow their business based on my knowledge and experience.

In my time outside my studio and consulting position, I am raising 4 precious kids. With my busy schedule, I always find the time to maintain my tennis skills, racing in 5 & 10 K in running, baking with my kids, snowboarding, and dancing.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Finding the best team with a similar patients care mindset and skillset was one of my early challenges. I insist to hire only the most professional instructors with top-class certifications. The most important thing for me is to have the most professional team that puts the client’s health and goals as their highest priority.

Finance and support have always been a challenge. We offer the top Pilates services in the DFW area while maintaining competitive prices. As a small business owner, I had to start very small with minimal equipment and staff. With time and volume growth, I purchased more equipment and hired more instructors and staff. COVID-19 lockdown and regulation placed a lot of financial pressure on all small businesses. I am lucky to have the best team and support to get through this challenging time with relatively minimal damages. I would like to thank my team and client for all their support.

Marketing is always part of a small business challenge. The Pandemic brought also good things business-wise. Many people would like to invest in small businesses than big chains.

A permanent challenge I will be always is to look forward and define the next goal. I would always try to raise the bar and take my business and client service to the next level. Growing a business involve courage, investment, entrepreneurship, and innovation.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Rotem’s Pilates is special for being a boutique and female own studio based on Joseph Pilates’ Classic method. The studio includes intimate small group Reformer and Cadillac classes, privates, duets, instructive workshops, and educational seminars.

Pilates exercise is a mind-body intervention that focuses on strength, core stability, flexibility, muscle control, posture, and breathing. Pilates is a method of exercise that consists of low-impact flexibility and muscular strength and endurance movements. Pilates emphasizes proper postural alignment, core strength, and muscle balance. One Pilates class is not enough to feel the difference, but if you keep your consistency in classes, your body will certainly feel the differences after 6-10 sessions. Privates sessions are best if you need to work on specific modifications to your body and maybe also help to get stronger and prepared for group mat classes.

Our work is based on the idea to bring Pilates to everyone: Elderly, Post-partum, prenatal, athletes, other special needs such as back surgery recovery, Stroke victims, Spine injuries, and more. We bring Pilates to our members and improve their Lifestyles. Our instructors are well Pilates certified and experienced in different Pilates classes such as Classic, Contemporary, Cardio Jump, Tower, Chair, and more.

Weekend sleepovers at my grandparents’ house with my cousins. Because no one can spoil you better than your grandparents. Every morning we had a rich breakfast and walk together to the beach. I still remember the flavors of the ice cream (and I had so many of them) on the way back from the beach.
