Exploring Life & Business with Sydney Geary of Glampire Hair Collection

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sydney Geary.

Hi Sydney, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Growing up, how my hair looked was always important to me. By the age of 7, I was going to the salon to get my hair done every two weeks. Lol, my parents created a monster!!! From then on, I always wanted my hair done. Once I got to high school, I started wearing extensions and I was super picky about the hair companies that I purchased from. I used to spend a lot of money on hair! When I was in high school, I was in the cosmetology program at Navarro Cosmetology College in Waxahachie. However, I wasn’t able to finish out the program. My dream was to be a hairstylist that specialized in and sold extensions. After high school, I went to Clark Atlanta University and received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Fashion Merchandising.
During this time, I was a real estate agent and a certified interior decorator. I continued my education at Clark Atlanta in hopes of receiving my Masters of Business Administration in Marketing. Being an entrepreneur and a real estate agent, I knew this would help me out a lot. Before the pandemic hit, I just didn’t feel fulfilled in doing real estate any longer so I surrendered my license. I had one more year of graduate school left and the biggest question on my mind was was. I was on YouTube one day and came across one of Steve Harvey’s motivational speeches. Literally gave me chills! Lol but most importantly it inspired me to really follow my dreams and what would make me feel fulfilled in life. I knew what I wanted! I began staying up all hours of the night learning more about hair extensions, talking to vendors overseas, and learning how to make wigs. In March of 2021, Glampire Hair Collection was born! After I graduated in May of 2021, I quit my job and moved back to Texas a few months later. I reenrolled into cosmetology school at Ogle School of Hair, Skin & Nails to pursue my dreams of being a hairstylist that specializes in and sells hair extensions. Needless to say, I am beyond happy about where I am in life right now and where I’m headed! For anybody that is feeling hesitant about following their dreams…DON’T! Follow your dreams and do what’s best for you!

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Absolutely not lol! Anyone that sells hair extensions knows that it’s definitely a process of getting to the right hair quality for your target market. I’ve spent soooooo much money on testing out hair extensions from vendors. Also, because the beauty and fashion industries are always changing, you have to stay on your toes and be able to change with them.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about Glampire Hair Collection?
Glampire Hair Collection is a luxury hair extension brand that sells extensions, eyelashes, and wigs. The name Glampire stands for “Glam Empire” which is so fitting because the brand represents the power of beauty both internally and externally. Of course, you would have to purchase to receive the entire experience lol but I’ll give a sneak peek. Just like a fortune cookie, when our box is opened, there is a handwritten inspirational message from me. Writing out these messages is my favorite part of the packaging process. I am genuinely appreciative of everyone that supports my brand and as much as they pour into me, I love pouring into them.

Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I truly love seeing people happy. My favorite part about being in the beauty and fashion industry is witnessing people embrace the qualities that they love about themselves. It’s something so refreshing about being around confidence and seeing people smile. Also, I love motivating anyone that I come into contact with. I used to think that my purpose in life was solely my job title or career path but now I understand that my purpose in life is to empower people to do whatever makes them happy and live out their fullest potential.
