Today we’d like to introduce you to Margie Salame.
Margie, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I grew up on the Central Coast in California and moved to the DFW area in 1980 when the Air Force brought my husband to then Carswell AFB. We liked the friendliness of the people and decided that it would be a good place to raise a family. My husband and I both went into law enforcement. He with the Fort Worth Police Department and I with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office. He eventually became an officer with the City of Grapevine and later I did as well. During my time in law enforcement, I received many awards, recognition certificates, and thank you letters for the work that I did to help others, especially school children. I retired from law enforcement in 2002.
In 2008, I decided to go into real estate. People teased me that I picked the wrong time to go into the business. But in reality, it has been a great career for me and I love it! I love to sell a house for clients that are ready to start a new chapter in their lives, I love to help buyers find the perfect new home for them. It doesn’t matter if it’s new buyers, someone moving up or maybe downsizing, whatever their reason, I’m very happy to help. I also have several investors that routinely buy homes from me. Since I don’t really advertise, my business is mostly referral based. I treat others the way that I would like to be treated. I hope that if any of your readers need my help, they will give me that opportunity. I have been a top producer almost since the start and have received many awards in my field as well. I believe if you are going to do a job, do it well and clients will appreciate it and they will tell their friends and family. I love being a part of the Keller Williams family because that’s what we are. One big, helpful, professional, amazing, happy family!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
It’s been a relatively good fit for my personality. I love being a Realtor and enjoy working with people. It’s very rewarding and a service to others. However, being a Realtor is definitely a lot of hard work.

If you had to go back in time and start over, would you have done anything differently?
I can’t think of anything that I would have done differently. Maybe I would have gotten in to the business even sooner.
