Hidden Gems: Meet Dina Session of Boujee Behavior Boutique

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dina Session.

Dina, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Although Boujee Behavior was officially established January 2021, it has always been my subtle vision, since 2006. As a fashion enthusiast, for years I have loved and supported numerous fashion brands, all the while denying myself my own opportunity. Back in 2006, I was a single parent, working two jobs, and going to school, I had my hands full. And on top of that, I didn’t know the first thing about starting a business, in fashion, so I immediately didn’t want to do the work. I continued to put it further and further out of my mind.

Years continue to go by, numerous barriers in the corporate world occur and God continues to put my vision and desire in my face. I’ve learned God will make you feel comfortable and uncomfortable, at the same time, while He waits patiently for you to obey His will.

So, I stepped out on faith, setting out on the path God has for me. I vow to allow God to use me in this business, in every aspect He sees fit.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. Take for instance the business formation, I didn’t know the first thing about officially setting up a business in the fashion industry. I mean there was a full to-do list; name your company, build a website, setup business emails, vendors, and oh don’t forget you need money too, lol, the list goes on.

I also struggled with my marketing. You must get the word out to the public, that YOU exist, then get the word out YOUR BUSINESS exists, so yep, that means using good ole social media. This I truly dreaded I hadn’t been on Facebook in 5 years, now I had to go back. Lord Help!! And it wasn’t like riding a bike, if you done it once nothing has changed, NO EVERYTHING had changed, it was like learning a foreign language. Lol. If it wasn’t for my daughter’s help I’d still be stuck.

I’ve had my share of struggles and there are probably more to come but I’m here for it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
As founder and CEO of Boujee Behavior, I wanted my clothing brand to be more than just a catchy name, my brand strives to empower women through Faith, Confidence, and Style.

I recently launched my online boutique, November 2021.

Although still in the infant stage, I started my brand out with my faith-inspired t-shirts and I’m working on moving up to boutique-style men and women clothing that will represent debonair, classy, and affordable style.

Our faith-inspired t-shirts aren’t your average tees. Our t-shirts not only allow you to represent your faith through style but our coined phrases we’ve created, to bring about positive conversations about God in our community. Maybe even to someone who doesn’t know of Him.

What makes me most proud of my brand, is that, as the brand grows in business; I can see myself growing as well in, faith, wisdom, and proficiency.

What does success mean to you?
I simply define success as living the life that Jesus Christ died to give me.

I believe there’s no greater accomplishment than living to serve God.
