Today we’d like to introduce you to Sunita Ritesh.
Hi Sunita, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
This is my favorite part…. the start! You know, Ask, Believe and Receive… once I conquered the believe part it was easy to receive :). I had studied Interior Designing back in the days but it was never intended to be my career. I just in general love putting together textures, patterns, and colors. I love envisioning designs and then bringing it to life. I took a break to grow our family and then when I wanted to get back into the corporate world, it seemed impossible. Honestly, today when I think of it, maybe my heart was not really into the search as well. I live a life led by Jesus, or at least I try to and during one of my prayer times, I felt like being called into Interior Designing. Because I never studied it wanting it to be my career, I had conveniently forgotten about it. But then it was only matter of days before I prayed some more and just took a leap of faith… and 3 years later here we are 🙂
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It has been a very humbling growth experience. Every project brings with it, its own set of learnings, joy, and gratification. Sometimes when you are a creative person, you find it difficult to implement the business side of a company. In my case, I have been very blessed that not only do I have a creative mind but also my education and experience has been encouraging to my business. Having said that, like every company, we too have room to grow especially because our business is people and emotion centric. Asking clients to factor money into that equation has been challenging for me. Educating and creating an awareness among prospects to the value, me and my studio, bring in creatively and also financially is something I have to do every day. It can get overwhelming sometimes but then I concentrate on the end result and that keeps me going.
Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I am someone who finds it very difficult and sometimes quite impossible to live with what is handed over to me as a norm. I most often take what is given and churn it into my way of having it. This is a trait you will find in me anywhere design is concerned, let it be clothing, home design, food, or makeup… Cookie-cutter has never been my thing. Today as an Interior Designer that is what I am known for! Buying furniture and putting it all around is just not my thing. I don’t mean that does not do anything to the space, of course, the right pieces elevate the space for sure. But my craving is always for a unique design element. I cannot call a project done until I have left my mark with a completely customized design element. And I am very thankful to all my clients so far, for giving me that creative freedom to utilize this ability of mine in their spaces.
I think this is what sets us apart. Our love for people, love for families, and love for real human connection. We sprinkle all of that love into the projects for our clients and the end result is them enjoying their spaces for years to come.
Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
Oh yes! I am a huge consumer of anything that gives direction and encouragement. I think everybody needs to constantly keep learning from all these resources that are out there…
