Today we’d like to introduce you to Giselle Ruggeberg.
Giselle, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Jade & Clover started as an idea I had when I was living in San Diego. Deep Ellum has always been an area I’ve been drawn to so when I began the process of scouting locations to open the store, I knew it would be in the heart of Deep Ellum. We opened our doors in October of 2016 and have enjoyed every moment of it. Becoming involved in the Deep Ellum community, working with local vendors to support Dallas artist, and creating an in-store environment where you are surrounded by good-vibes and walk out of the store in a better mood than you were in before.
The store features a Succulent Bar where you can custom-build your own terrarium with the vessel you pick out. Each vessel includes the sand, plants (succulents/cacti), decor and one of our team members works directly with the customer to put together a personally customized terrarium. We created the Succulent Bar as a place people could go to, put their phones down and build something beautiful with their friends.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been a year, so with that said, we have learned and grown a lot as a store. We continue to grow and are fortunate to have great support from our friends, local business, vendors and amazing customers we have. We are always looking forward to what’s next and keep moving forward as a brand. We’ve loved every moment of our journey.

Jade & Clover is a carefully curated lifestyle shop encouraging healthful living offering handmade eco-conscious gifts, clothing, jewelry & home decor.
We specialize in terrariums and gifts you can find for your friends, family, co-workers or significant other. We have worked directly with organizations or corporate gatherings by hosting terrarium parties, teaching classes and decorating for events.
We are known for our succulent living-wall located out front of our store. This has drawn an attraction to Instagrammers from all over who want a photo with the beautiful wall. We absolutely love designing and creating living-walls and have designed walls for customers and private events.
We are most proud of the relationships we have built with our customer base and being awarded with the “Best Place For Good Vibes Only,” From D Magazine’s Best of Big D 2017 Awards. This really comes from our relationships we have with people who enter the store- we are all about making people feel welcome and are here to answer any questions people have about the store or the area itself.
I think this is what sets us apart from others, we build relationships with customers and make sure when they are looking for a gift for themselves or their friends, they find something unique and wonderful.
What were you like growing up?
I was a free spirit and marched to the beat of my own drum. I have always enjoyed traveling and kept myself open to new experiences. I was heavily interested in art and music scene in Dallas, where I grew up.
