Today we’d like to introduce you to Sara Zwink.
Hi Sara, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My story takes me to 6 different states and 3 countries – but anywhere that allows me to be my free authentic self is where home is. I always seemed to take a slightly different route – grew up homeschooled, started college at 22, and now graduating with a doctorate of Chiropractic at 30 – individualism is paramount in my life. And as such, so is fostering an environment where others are able to feel empowered in their own authenticity. Ultimately, that’s what brought me to chiropractic – and to Texas. I thrive with options – from food to culture, to abilities to express myself. I feel called to be a supportive force in others’ lives towards their own freest expression of life, without the constraint of health concerns. I appreciate others who crave the same out of life, and that brought me to The Specific Chiropractic Center – Richardson. I’m here to dive into the local scenes, meet as many interesting people as possible, and live my biggest life while helping others do the same.
I’m a dog mom, a “try anything once” kinda woman, a loud spirit, and kind shoulder.
That’s who I am, that’s my story.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I’m the only girl among my three brothers, my educational path was mostly homeschooled, but really mostly running around the forest and creeks of Alaska. When I found my career love, nervous system care, I dove in – and college and grad school were different than my forest back home. My brain was wired to live in the moment, to do what I want and not what I needed – not quite on par with most of the adulting world. I struggled in school, to the extent that many others gave up (we’re talking about taking 6 months longer to graduate than most of my peers in DC school) but – if anything that added to my uniqueness, my story. I can relate to others who feel betrayed by their own mind, and that relatability makes my longer path a strength, not a setback.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I join The Specific Chiropractic Center – Richardson in Summer of 2022 where much of our work is known from Dr. Brown “The Migraine Doc”, and we often work with a myriad of chronic health issues via nervous system-based care. With my patients, I love to dive into its relationship with anxiety and mental health. I believe you deserve to live a life of ease – that your body is capable of thriving, it just needs the right tools and care. Honestly? The best part is helping others who have sought all other help out there, and found none. Knowing that this work empowers their body to heal within its own right is exhilarating. What sets us apart is we focus on doing one thing – nervous system function care – and doing it damn well. Along the way, we teach our patients tools they can use to help regulate their nervous systems to support the corrective care we provide, as empowerment in one’s health is crucial to healing. We use thermography to essentially run a functional scan of the nervous system, motion x-rays to identify right where the issue is, and one specific correction when and where needed.
