Hello Curvy Queenz Of Dallas, so excited to have you on the platform. So, before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Creative Director and Choreographer Gladys was Born and raised in Los Angeles, California. Gladys found herself dancing; for fun, for motivation, and even as an outlet to escape family hardships. Dance has not only been her gift but it has also been a catalyst to escape poverty. Gladys’ professional career kicked off in a major way after graduating High school! She booked her first gig with the Black-Eyed Peas and the jobs kept rolling in! These jobs included a K-Swiss Commercial, a Will Smith video, At&t Go Phone Commercial, Tribute to Rick James at the ASCAP Awards, MTV Awards, Americas Got Talent, and much more! 

Through Gladys’ experience as a professional dancer, she saw a need in the industry that provided a different prospective, she formed this unique group of women; The Curvy Queenz of Dallas Dance Team. Gladys envisioned a plus-size dance group to become known in the world of dance. This group was formed in March 2018 and is now a sought-after, industry-leading group of women who do much more than dance. The Curvy Queenz are here to prove once and for all, Dance Has No Size! 

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
So far for the most part it has been an easy process, but we’ve had people call us names, doubt us, and overlook us but we see it as another opportunity to prove the world wrong we will keep living out our dream as professional dancers no matter what others may think, you just never give up. No matter who you are not everyone will accept you. We work hard to build our brand and our talent and our skills will speak for itself. The struggles make you better and stronger.

Curvy Queenz of Dallas is a professional plus-size dance team created to provide dance training and dance opportunities to curvy women. We are here to uplift, motivate and empower women and young girls; helping to improve self-confidence, self-love, self-esteem, and education through the art of dance. 

Curvy Queenz has a CQ Cares Program designed to fulfill our cultural responsibility to the community. Our Outreach Program helps provide free dancing training to the youth, physical and psychological health and wellness services, social, and economic needs to all; in the form of love, care, food, clothing, volunteered hours, school supplies, resources, personal items and more. We serve the lower-income communities, including: families, older adults, and homeless in the greater Dallas-Ft. Worth areas and surrounding counties. 

Curvy Queenz of Dallas are also Dallas Skyline basketball team Pro Dancers
