Today we’d like to introduce you to Guilit Nseka.
Hi Guilit, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstories.
With the way my life has progressed, there is no brief way to walk you through my story. However, I was born June 15, in the Democratic Republic of Congo, to a happy home with a couple brothers and several sisters. African family trees are complicated. I was fortunate to move to the United States with my younger sister and now Dr. Lorienne Nseka Ph.D. in law, very proud of her. I grew up in Colorado, in a single-family home but both parents were available. I suffered from a lot of different emotions and feelings I did not know and understand. My way of dealing with everything was anger and lashing out at parents or siblings. I understand why I felt that way now but that is a story for a different time. I was able to go back to high school after dropping out of high school and get a diploma. School was not my favorite place to be, but with the support of my brother and sisters with their husbands and wife, I was encouraged to take education a bit more seriously. I thought of my own life as well and all the struggles internally and found it within myself to go to college. However, I did not go all the way to the end of the finish line. The older I got I started making decisions to benefit me and my future, pleasing others was no longer an option. I realized after a couple of years of school and 21 credits from graduating that school was just not for me. I definitely want to go back after I secure the next stage of my life. School was not teaching me what I wanted to learn except for on one occasion. Business school was teaching me how to go get a job and work for someone, while my mind was on building my own company. I struggled with many choices at these times and went through stages of depressions and being stressed to the point of thinking unthinkable thoughts in a household I grew up in and also with my beliefs. I toughed it out. Leading me to creating ways of revenue and being blessed along the way. Eventually and many blessings and dumb decisions, I learned to invest and creating more streams of revenue. To then finally starting my management career, and then starting a record label, Healthcare company and trucking business, and other endeavors, including taxes and consulting. All my companies are named M.O.T.O, meaning; Making of THe Origins or MOTO. MOTO in my negative language of Lingala means Fire. ‘Making of The Origins basically means, everything I am today is the making of path that led me to where I am today since my origins on Kinshasa. I remember everything I went through and all that I dealt with that made me either cry, laugh, feel rejected, or odd on out and loved. I put all those feeling together and it created a fire in me to succeed. Today I have plenty to be grateful for and for what’s still to come. We thank God. Thank you for the opportunity to share a small bit of my story.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road, there are still and were so many ups and downs. The downs were on a much deeper angle and at a higher drop rate. Some struggles have to do with myself and excepting myself for who I am and not what everyone expects of me. I am Guilit and I have failed and learned from some of my failures. That is a part of life. Mentally, emotionally, and spiritually I struggled a lot. There are just so many struggles.

What do you think about luck?
I do not believe I have good luck or bad luck. I have been blessed by my lord and Savior and he continues to bless me and any misfortunes were for times I needed to be humbled or thought a lesson to prepare me for a bigger role I have in my life. I believe the biggest misfortunes are for those with the biggest future. They say the more you have the more problems arise. And I learned to deal with big problems early so I may be able to handle big problems later without losing my mind because I’ve had practice.
