Today we’d like to introduce you to Shada Shead.
Hi Shada, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Where do I start? My name is Shada Shead, I am the owner of Physique Artistry Beauty Bar & Spa. I have two children (Ryan & Kynnedi) and married for 14 years (Essick).
I started my journey in entrepreneurship by a sudden change in life events. I graduated high school from Longview, Texas. Then obtained my bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwestern State University. After college, I ran post-collegiate track for a Nike Club in Indianapolis, IN. After several years, I started working full-time with the State of Texas as a cps investigator. After 9 years of being in the field, I learned that I was missing a great part of my children’s life by being on call all of the time and working long hours. I was out protecting other children and was missing a deal of time of my own children’s life. I immediately thought to myself I need a change in career paths.
I resigned from the state of Texas and became a full-time mom. While watching my children blossom and enjoy their childhood, I decided I wanted to be an inspiration for my children and leave them something when I passed on. While being a full-time mom; I had a lot of time off. The time off I had a lot of time to think about what I wanted to do and leave for my children.
I was always worked out and took care of my body but I did however gain a little happy weight with my children. One day while shopping in Sprouts for apple cider vinegar drops, gummies, etc. I met an elderly lady in a store and she asked me what was I doing with all of the things in my buggy. I told her I was trying to lose weight. She then told me about cavitation and the benefits of it. Cavitation is a non-invasive body contouring service that eliminates stubborn fat cells with the use of a sound wave bar to burst the adipose cells.
I went to visit a shop that she referred me too and loved the results so much that I decided that body sculpting would be the business I created.
I took a step out on fate and opened my business. I felt the feeling of being empowered. I was able to open a business and still have the flexibility to be a great mom and wife. I am now able to experience the joy of their special moments.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
I would say that it definitely hasn’t been an easy process. There are a lot of things including unforeseen things that come with getting a business up, running, and profitable. I began my business in a mobile fashion for a year and then transitioned to a brick-and-mortar physical location in Cedar Hill, TX. The past three years, I have been located in Grand Prairie. There were times that I went from not having any clients per week until now I stay booked each week which allows me to work six days a week. I have had several bumpy roads that range from bad marketing, landlord issues, working through the covid pandemic, etc. I never wavered and stayed the course of pursuing a successful business.

Physique Artistry Beauty Bar & Spa. is an LLC created by myself. Physique Artistry is just another way to say body sculpting. At Physique Artistry we offer many things for body contouring and skincare. We currently offer the following:
We specialize in non-invasive body contouring services. We are known for sculpting many clients that have went to have cosmetic surgery and after a couple of years, they need more help. I feel we are set apart from others due to we do not say we can fix someone and we can’t. It is our motto quality over quantity. Our clients love us and they are obtaining their body goals and more. We are very honest and we make sure you’re getting your money worth. My most proud brand would be cryotherapy.
Things I would like readers to know is that every non-invasive business is not the same. Many times, people are not trained properly and can do more harm than good. Try us out and take advantage of the great specials we are offering.
Any big plans?
I plan on opening a Physique Artistry Beauty Bar & Spa. in north Dallas to be able to service our clients that stay on the north side. I am currently looking forward into moving into a bigger suite mid-April and bringing aboard a couple of estheticians.
