Meet Gabby Conoway

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabby Conoway.

Hi Gabby, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I’ve always been an animal lover. I am the type of person who, if we are hanging out at your house, will be sitting closest to the dog. My love of dogs (really, any pet) goes further than just their kisses or personalities. I care about their health and well-being; I want them to be happy and active. Being a vet wasn’t really going to be my thing, but this is how I share my love and caring. It’s important that they get the nutrition that they need.

During the pandemic when everyone was pivoting and handling what new lives we were given, I opted out of my old life of massage therapy in into a new field altogether. All-Natural Dog Treats! We started small, with just cookies and Pupcakes, but now I’ve grown to include jerkies and my very own peanut butter! My goal was to use the least amount of ingredients possible, but the ones I do use are all-natural, with no additive or preservatives. Each of my treats are very different in looks and taste to offer you exactly what your dog prefers while also being Nutritious and Delicious! We started at a single Farmers Market in Burleson and now I can be found at multiple vendor events, Farmers’ Markets, and local boutiques around the Fort Worth area! If you aren’t local, don’t worry, we ship!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not, what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
I would be lying if I said it was smooth sailing, as starting a business is a scary and bumpy road! But with the constant support of my husband and kids and the rest of my family and friends, and the encouraging sounds of chomping from my pups, it really makes it easier to roll with the punches. Currently, inflation and supply availability is difficult, but my shoppers and puppers really do make the whole thing worth it! Coming from the health and beauty industry, it was hard to make the switch from service to products, but my husband helps me out as much as he can with his personal experience.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
Like I said before, each of my treats are different, in ingredients, looks, and taste. Dogs all have preferences, as we all know, and especially if you have a “picky dog.” I wanted to give options. I did some reading and research and found what was the typical flavoring and decided how to change or add things that would actually benefit your dog. I believe what sets me apart from others is that I am here to work specifically with YOUR dog. If there are allergies, I try to offer a substitute. Have a small mouth or older teeth? I got you. I am here to make the experience enjoyable for everybody. What I am most proud of is my Picky Dog Approved status! Nothing makes you feel as good as when someone says “My dog is too picky, they won’t like it” and when they offer it, it’s gobbled up! Makes my heart soar, and yes, maybe a happy dance is included.

What’s next?
Ah, the future…so close and so far. I would love to work more on shipped or delivered orders even though I absolutely love being out in the market setting. My current hope is to start up a monthly box full of your requested treats! You never know when you can strike gold… you may see MDNT in a grocery store someday!
