Life & Work with Blosom Brown

Today we’d like to introduce you to Blosom Brown.

Hi Blosom, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have always been an athlete. I was a cheerleader from middle school through college where I served as captain. Similar to a lot of people, I gained a lot of weight post-college due to my activity level not being as high and poor eating. I moved to Boston and got into kickboxing to try and get back on track. I was able to lose enough weight to feel better about myself again but it wasn’t anything major.

I moved to Dallas in November 2017 and was so happy to be back in the South and starting eating poorly again. I would start and stop working out time after time.

In January 2020, I decided — enough is enough — I’m going to get my life back on track and completely commit myself to health & fitness and share my journey. Little did I know that COVID-19 would make this even more challenging than I had anticipated. I had just got into weightlifting before the gyms closed so I started studying bodybuilding & nutrition on YouTube. I would watch videos for hours. What spoke to me the most was that exercise is one part of it, but the biggest impact of positive results was nutrition. For so long, I was working out and not achieving the results I wanted until I learned proper nutrition. Food choices, how to prepare, and season foods play a big role in a person’s overall results. Which is why I enjoy encouraging my audience to exercise, but even more teaching my clients how to make healthy choices.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall, and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
My biggest struggle is balancing influencing and nutrition coaching with my corporate job. I am a full-time engineer so many days it’s extremely challenging, but I love being able to influence someone’s life in a positive way. When they tell me that they went to the gym because of me, or I keep them motivated, they made a healthy choice in the grocery store due to something I mentioned. It truly makes my heart smile.

As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a fitness influencer & nutrition coach. I hope to encourage women who are like me. I have always been curvy, even in my cheer days. I’ve struggled with my weight my entire life and can relate to the fact that — no, it’s not easy to make healthy choices daily. But it’s something I work at every day so that I can live a long, healthy, fulfilling life. And I hope to pass down healthy habits to my children and generations after that.

Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
COVID-19 taught me to live every day to the fullest. Do not postpone enjoyment because tomorrow is not promised. Anything that is on your heart or mind, DO IT. Although it may seem scary, take the leap; follow your dreams. All we have is now.
